Progress
(blog entry)
You can't rush into these things. Since the bra base was made, my entire design ideas have changed. I wished for a suitable shisha mirror belt and found it (thanks for passing that on, Portia). Cutting and sewing has finally begun. Fray Check ...

Coin Bra
(blog entry)
Progress today! The base of the bra is almost done. My girl Cheri graciously let me use her sewing machine, and by that I mean, she ran the stitches while I figured out how to put the bra parts together, cut and pinned. You know you're friends ...

(blog entry)
I'm fighting what's left of a cold and trying to change my work schedule. I've been creeping later and was going in at 11am, last week I made it in at 10:30, this week trying for 10am, eventually goal is 9am. I value my mornings, that's when I c...

about me
I've been belly dancing in Eugene, Oregon since 2004. I started out in Gypsy Caravan style by recommendation from a study partner who said it was "a great way to strengthen your core." The music grabbed me and the costuming held on. Ah, and the people, good people. Dancing also helped me heal from a neck strain, all that snake arm training was worth it!
Music was my first love.
Follow your gut, Listen to your heart, and Let your brain take a rest.
"Food as Medicine" could be my gastronomic motto.
"Food not Lawns" is important to me, too. If I had a lawn of my own, it would become food. and flowers :-)
While I believe technology is furthering our evolution, its essential to remember humans are more still important than machines.
You can't rush into these things. Since the bra base was made, my entire design ideas have changed. I wished for a suitable shisha mirror belt and found it (thanks for passing that on, Portia). Cutting and sewing has finally begun. Fray Check is my friend. I also found a beautiful kuchi centerpiece at the recent bead fair, along with some Burmese coins from the 60's. Not sure if they'll make it onto this bra as things are continuously evolving, as it should be. I can't wait to see how ...

You know you're friends when you can both talk to yourselves in the same room, completely ignore each other and answer at all the appropriate times :P

I'm fighting what's left of a cold and trying to change my work schedule. I've been creeping later and was going in at 11am, last week I made it in at 10:30, this week trying for 10am, eventually goal is 9am. I value my mornings, that's when I cook and tidy up and now wanting to add some movement, exercise and meditation. Evening dance classes are the reason for all of it. There might be side effects, too, like becoming more social.
This and other personal improvements are more importa...

It helps to have a foundation first in any subject, whether it's dance, physics, spirituality, you name it. That way, the other things that are learned have something to attach themselves to and one can build a tall, strong, beautiful structure that functions smoothly.
Another way is to receive tiny bits of information, scraps of learning, and hope they stick to something. One becomes covered in these post-it notes until the appropriate foundation is found for them. Or realize that the ...
