Sheesh! I should change the name of my blog to "My personal injury diary"

Okay, so the day before yesterday, I'm starting dinner...I've got my potatoes washed, I'm starting to slice them on my (oh so scary) mandolin slicer. I'm slicing at a fairly quick pace...and then it happened! I sliced a piece of the pad of my thumb clean off! There was a lot of blood :( We had to bandage it three times before the bleeding would stop.
So, my final bandage of the night is on...non-stick gauze (yeah right) and medical tape...my daughter drew a mummy face on it to make me feel better which worked, right up to the point when I realized that my NON-STICK pad was STUCK!! It took me about 15 minutes of soaking to remove it.
Anyway...it is still icky and swollen but it is slowly healing and the pain has lessened.
