A sneak peak of Europe!
I'm back! Contiki proves to be a blast!!!!!!! I fully recommend Contiki to all you 18-35 year olds. It's the wildest ride you can ever hop on! Pictures speak louder than words so here's a few to whet your appetite:I will fix the pictures soon. For the time being use your imagination:
In London, I hopped onto the double decker tour bus and saw the entire London in one day. In Paris, we sped around Napolean's Arc de Trioumph and sighed to the gorgeous night illumination of the city. The next day, we were up the Eiffel Tower snapping away at the amazingly symmetrical design of the city, then zoomed back down to push through the crowds in order to discover the mystery of Mona Lisa in the Louvre, strolled down Champs Elysee (Paris version of Broadway), went into Louis Vuitton to buy a wallet (for a shady Chinese woman who gave me 600 euros!!!) and finished the day with a mind blowing performance in the Moulin Rouge while downing champagne. Day 4 was a relaxing day in the vineyards of the French countrysides picnicing along with some French flies and learned how to appreciate the Beaujolais red wine. That night, we had a little dress up party and the theme was funky head/hair! I'll show you pics of my costume.
Next stop was at one of my favorite country from this trip, Switzerland. I've heard tons about skiing on the Swiss alps, but never have I ever been so amazed and impressed by nature's wonders. The alps there were beyond majestic, the atmosphere was as fresh as air can be, and even the rain tasted good! At night I took a quiet stroll around the area and met Mr. Macho-Arnold-Schwarzenegger-wanna-be silence police. Yes, Switzerland has a very strict night curfew and there is to be no raised voices outside past 10 or 11. Day 6, Florence! We partied the first night at a karaoke bar. I thought only the Asians have a fetish for karaoke, but the Italians do too. We did some crazy shopping the next day! For those who have not heard yet, I bought a BEAUtiful puzzle ring and had declared that if anyone figures how to piece the ring together (without having ever read the little instruction manual it came with), I'll marry him/her .
We all sang, "We're going to Venice, we're going to Venice, we're going to Venice, it's gonna be a gOOd day," as we took the low ceiling ferry to the most unique city in the world. What was there to do on this amazing little island on top of a lagoon? Where should I start! We witnessed glass blowing techniques, checked out some Italian handmade lace, visited the church in St. Mark's Square that was influence by both Oriental and European cultures, laughed at people who were attacked my the gabillion pigeons there, tasted original Italian gelato while shopping through cute stores and most excitingly, enjoyed a lazy gondola ride through the canals of Venice.
I started the edit to this entry thinking that I'll describe some quick and brief memorable details about the trip but once I started I just couldn't stop. Everyday was unbelievable in itself. But I will end with this: I white-water rafted in Austria!!! For those who don't realize how much of a city girl I am, I'll tell you now that I do NOT know how to swim. Now, if you were sane, you would not want to white water raft in the freezing water of Austrian rapids if you do not know how to swim, but of course I went crazy on this trip (did I tell you I went up to the DJ booth in Italy and started dancing with the DJ and then on the tower platform in front of everybody!!!... I'll save that story for another day). But how often will I ever get to white water raft while enjoying the crisp air and magnificent scenery of Austria again! So I did and I even jumped into the river, got pulled up by the president of Contiki, in turn pulled this big guy up when he was in the river, stood on the edge of the raft with the whole crew, and hanged on to a rope for dear life when the raft stood erect at a 90 degrees angle with the water. We ended this day's advernture by enjoying a nice hot bowl of German goulash after showering with a bunch of girls in our bikinis under one tiny shower head. And that was my Contiki!
