Certified Divemaster for 11 yrs. Certified Paralegal for over 20 yrs. Madame Shakti has been dancing in various styles and locations since learning folk dancing at the age of 10, and has a semi- formal education in dance, including; folk, drill team, tap, jazz, disco, ballroom, gypsy and of course American Cabaret bellydance! She has attended seminars and received instruction from Aida Nour of Cairo, Darshan (Cammi Vance) of New York, Aliki, Rory, and Zaira. Madame Shakti has been studying cabaret bellydance for 4 yrs in the DFW area. In addition, she has performed in the following venues, Sister-to-Sister Heart Health Fair, Kismet Dallas, The Girls Room Grand Opening, Dare to Dream, Dance for Relief Tsunami Fundraiser in Ft. Worth, Katrina Fundraiser , Dragonfire Yoga Studio Opening, the State Fair of Texas, Arbor Daze and May Fest. Most recently she had an opportunity to share belly dance with the residents of a nursing home in North Richland Hills which was very rewarding. In her free time she also enjoys creating belly dance costumes, searching for great dance music, jewelry making, scuba diving with her sons and playing with her dogs and cats. Madame Shakti is also a Member of Scubadillos Diving Club, Neptune Divers Diving Club, and Dallas Area Paralegal Association as Chair of their Litigation Section and Education Chairman

Well, Stratos has significantly cut back my announcing for the bellydance shows! i am now scheduled for Harem Night only, and any days DJ Elements is not going to be there for the shows. Go figure. I guess its tough on everyone these days.

Ok, tonight was my first night teaching beginning bellydance at The Girls Room in Dallas. Despite having laryngitis, it went amazingly well. the 2 students I had were both dancers so they picked up very quickly and we had a lot of fun learning the Argeninian Boomer dance, so much so, that by the time we decided to take a break it was already 8:45! so it was time to pack up and let the burlesque group have the room. Looks like there will be more Hareem Fitna shows at Stratos! Nick wants Friday night shows now. I think will be 8:00 and 10:00 and moving the Saturday show to 10:00 p.m.!

In addition, neenah asked me to strat teaching a beginner class after the new year! that will be lots of fun, I really will enjoy that. So I will be working 3 nights a week, but the extra money is going to help while I get ready to fix up the house to sell. Decided its time to move on, my boys are not at home much now... read more
Hareem Fitna performed at the State Fair of Texas Saturday. Or at least they tried. it started drizzling just before the 10:00 show and after fits and starts it was decided that the 10:00 show would be canceled. it was just too wet to do anything.

Our intermediate students (who haven't yet come up with a troupe name!) performed a dance mix to George Abdos' Hadouni and drum. The ladies are doing a great job and had lots of fun with these routines. Slight costume malfunction when not 1, but 2, necklaces went flying across the room! LOL Those spins were pretty wild!
