Clinique - is it worth splashing out?

Has anyone ever tried clinique products??
I figured this would be a good place to ask this, as I'm sure you all have more experience in skincare than I do!
I'm looking for a new facial moisturiser and foundation and visited the clinique stand, and they have two products which do sound fabulous, but who knows if they'll do what they say on the tin? Theres the powder foundation, and also the super triple defense moisturiser to protect from just about everything you could possibly imagine.

Do I risk it and splash out the extortionate amount they are asking for it? Or would I be just as well off with a more affordable but equally effective brand like olay or something?

So, does anyone know which bellydance magazines are the bomb? I can only really afford to subscribe to one or two - with my main interest in tribal. Any suggestions? I hear that the american ones are the best...
