We are not Goddesses. It is a sweet complement, but not proper - I rather to say, I work for a Goddess, and it's a job with great employee benefits!

Re: Looking for something different (in Tribal Costuming) those ruffly things are nice, especially with the mixed colour scheme.

i made a pair of trou out of some cheap satin broomstick skirts (one skirt for each leg- they were a size 2, after all) and they move with such a dreamy flow. next up is a p... read more

Re: Tribal Headdress (in Tribal Costuming) my hair is about 0.5cm long, so i had to attach everything to an Alice band (plain headband). I started with the fake hair, then fringe and chain loops to the front, then covered all that work with black velvet, then added some flowery things to t... read more

My Blog

As they do, news headlines pop up on my e-mail page. As one does, I ignore them usually - but "honor killings"... I know what that means, I know what it is, and how evil it is also. I read the article, as I shouldn't, as it makes me so angry, angry in a visceral way that i barely understand, awakens some dark, stormy, avenging beast in my heart. As it does to many, I think.

And once again, as it does occasionally, the Irony of this dance that so many of us love struck me in force. It is a... read more

i understand we all want to emulate our idols. i understand there isn't alot of music for tribal/tri fusion that we can find easily - heck, i am still learning where to look. but you know what? i have a huge and eclectic collection of music, from BNW (British New Wave, that weird dark synthpop from the 80's) to Jazz and Scottish Folk, and wonderfully, i can find something to dance to from each category.
ladies, girls, sistas, PLEASE.... find some new music! do something unexpected! dig up s... read more

hmn... i am drifting 'back' to ATS... it looks so, earthy, so feminine, so "i am gonna dance round the fire with my homegirls". i admit i get bored watching big ATS dances, but i figured out why - it is the sort of dance that makes me want to DO, rather than watch. the repetition, the simple yet powerful moves - this is not a spectator sport. it seems more like something a five year old girl would jump into, in the womens' circle, and keep doing all her life. all the dancers have a connextio... read more

I have been browsing different university level dance programs online, thinking of maybe getting an AA in Dance so i will seem more respectable as a dancer.... and i am realising, that when I finish my BS in Sports Med, i will have more of the knowledge I think dancers should have than what is taught in most programs.
Now here's what I think should be included in a Dance degree, maybe even instead of all the Ballet/Jazz/Broadway stuff...
