Assasinated

I can't believe Bhutto of Pakistan has been assasinated. I can't help feeling that this is extremely relevant marker in time. So violent, so bad. Red Tree marks the spot.

The Bad, The Mad, The Beautiful.

November 11th, 2pm
Be at the CB Gallery (info below) for
"The Good, The Bad, The Beautiful"

Three different Photographers with very different
styles and sensibilities are going to take our photo,
Saverio Cine, Art Domagala and Dianna Sion Callender.

We want all the artists that are working in Reno and the surrounding
vicinity to come and be a part of this marking of time.
Things change, people move and stuff happens.
Remember when?

I don't have the email for all the artists so I am
relying on you to invite and bring your
artist friends.

Please be prompt as I am sure the pictures
will get increasing wild with time (and beer,
sure, bring something to share).

I am going to make a brochure for the gallery
and want to include as many artists and as much
artwork as possible. I think this is important for future
generations and an important time for artists in Reno.

Don't be shy, please come by.
Consuelo.

Feel Better?

Hi, in with the cold weather can come a difficult time to produce art. I hear you. It is a lonely and often heady pursuit. Where do you get your validation from; sales, your name in lights and/or because you have to create? Well, you should see all the different types of artwork, mediums and motivations the CBGallery is collecting and all because of you! The regional work is outstanding.

Other opportunities that are being presented are group projects for public venues and private houses. More regional art in Local Establishments and Homes! Viva Consuelo's revolution! The energy and art that is created when two or more artists work on a project is phenomenal.

Maybe you have seen the new adds and press releases to the papers about the CBGallery? I assure you that is just the beginning. I had to get certain things in order before I rushed into the public realm completely. The body art work. A solid website for sales and viewing, an organized inventory list and business software - not only for CBGallery but also for all the exciting shows at Dreamer's and the Silver Peaks. Yummy.

This by nature is a long term project and I plan on being here a long time. Come see me! Show me what you are currently thinking about and working on. I keep almost regular office hours, but call me first anyway in case I am hanging more art some where. My goal is to represent and promote as many regional artists that provide a consistent quality body of original fine art. I plan on getting as many financial sponsors as possible for my independent gallery and working hard to sell your art.

Upcoming events:

Brings us to the Present...

The biggest classes at UCSC were economics. I regret never paying attention to the little bobbing head speaking a foreign language 50 rows below. I am very well suited to running my own business except for getting over this initial mound of economic software and exacting terminology where artists are vendors and art work goes into rate fields with appropriate tax codes. All for a good cause, setting up the CB Gallery online store, tracking sales, inventory, taxes and incremental raises on prices after sales. 2am and I am going to bed. See you all tomorrow after an espresso at Dreamer's, seeing if the mountains got a dusting of snow last night and resuming my seat in row 50, seat 21.

Believe in Dreams and Life's Synchronicity...

There was the smell of salt on air and warm sage. I could hear the waves crashing. The wind blew in dreams from the past last night. It was prom night or Ingrid's and my 20th birthday party. We were driving around LA in a rented limo drinking champagne and picking up our friends as we drove through the lights on Sunset Boulevard. Something about ending up at Topanga beach and Nite Swimming, unafraid, naked and wild. A bonfire sweetned by guitars and the songs of lost friends. Then there was a voice of a woman calling my name once, "Consuelo!" It woke me up suddenly at 3am. I came up through all the depths of sleep, through grey, blue and green and into the silent night in Reno.

Amoung others, I found these two pictures of Bean and I on our 20th birthday and my brother and I dressed up for our Crossroads high school prom night. They were in the book by Thomas Mann, 'The Mountain', once assigned summer reading in between Louis L'Amours at the beach. This blog is dedicated to the past, my Brother Rich and Sister Ingrid.

Female FIx

Ahhh, thanks ladies. Yes, we'll do it again later... I promise!
Erik Holland's art is coming down from Dreamer's on Wednesday,
Jim Lindem and I will hang a show of his newest works since he has
taken a couple of years off, driving around and painted new ideas.
Should be good. I am here for fall, regualr hours, except when curating.
Come see about me, Consuelo.
