Dumpster Meditation

As it turns out,
I’m not as divine as I once thought
I don’t know anyone better than they know themselves
nor can I assume to know the maybe emotions others aren’t even aware of feeling.

As it turns out,
I am a human after all and
I can’t live my whole life alone,
nor do I want to.

As it turns out,
my blindingly brilliant revelations of supreme clarity
often times have nothing to do with reality
and aren’t so clear after all.

As it turns out,
reality is created in large part by general consensus and not,
as I once thought, by the fairy tales God
may or may not have whispered in my ear.

As it turns out,
my radio antenna does not tune perfectly to Heaven’s channel and in fact,
I may have been listening to the wrong station all along.

As it turns out,
I still have a while to live
and while I stumble around scrambling on my ass,
I might never actually figure anything out but
Grace might let me play it off to work out in my own life
and fortunately I’m not living anybody’s life but my own.
