for what it's worth
i stand in the wrong. just as there's a difference between tribe and real life, there's a difference between tribe friends and real friends. it was wrong to have expectations that tribe friends would behave the same as real friends. funny how the obvious gets blurred over time, yet clearer over distance...i don't wanna walker round with you
guess it's official... punk is taking it's dieing bref (thanks, Cap'n...). well, the FIRST sign was when the insipid stylings of Green Dork... er... Day, were touted as being punk. tonight, though, i was witness to further proof:an AARP commercial, using as it's musical bed a song by the Buzzcocks...
in case anyone wonders
i choose "to be", as well...however, if anyone of you ever actually had the opportunity to walk along through the worlds that exist when i sleep, then you, too, may find yourself wondering, wishing, that there were some doorway where you could step through and find another life...
in solo soliloquy
To be, or not to be,--that is the question:--Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them?--To die,--to sleep,--
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache, and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to,--'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die,--to sleep;--
To sleep! perchance to dream:--ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despis'd love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office, and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? who would these fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,--
The undiscover'd country, from whose bourn
No traveller returns,--puzzles the will,
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought;
And enterprises of great pith and moment,
With this regard, their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action...
and if one truly needs me to
give the overtly obvious credit
to Shakespeare, then, equally
true, do you have my pity...
just so
i can fool myself into thinking i'm equal to my peers...(or perhaps just so's i can pretend there is a peer to myself...):

never mind the weather, when you come to Tommy's, the holiday's forever...
for some odd reason, part of Tommy (yes, the rock opera by the Who) was running through my head today. when i got home, i pulled out the lp (yes, vinyl) that someone had given to me, or that i bought very inexpensively, some time ago. i think it's the first time i've played it. anyway, what i found was this:it's a 'promotional copy', meaning
a) it's a certainty that it's original issue (AND it's in perfect condition).
b) for some reason, promotional copies are worth more to the collectors out there.
so, how does this affect me? well, it doesn't. i didn't waste my time and money amassing the collection i have just so i can sell it. i just thought i'd 'share' with you all...
not such a bad date...
