i stand in the wrong. just as there's a difference between tribe and real life, there's a difference between tribe friends and real friends. it was wrong to have expectations that tribe friends would behave the same as real friends. funny how the obvious gets blurred over time, yet clearer over distance...

To be, or not to be,--that is the question:--
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them?--To die,--to sleep,--
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache, and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to,--'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die,--to sleep;--
To sleep! perchance to dream:--ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despis'd love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office, and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? who would these fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,--
The undiscover'd country, from whose bourn
No traveller returns,--puzzles the will,
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought;
And enterprises of great pith and moment,
With this regard, their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action...

and if one truly needs me to
give the overtly obvious credit
to Shakespeare, then, equally
true, do you have my pity...

for some odd reason, part of Tommy (yes, the rock opera by the Who) was running through my head today. when i got home, i pulled out the lp (yes, vinyl) that someone had given to me, or that i bought very inexpensively, some time ago. i think it's the first time i've played it. anyway, what i found was this:

it's a 'promotional copy', meaning

a) it's a certainty that it's original issue (AND it's in perfect condition).
b) for some reason, promotional copies are worth more to the collectors out there.

so, how does this affect me? well, it doesn't. i didn't waste my time and money amassing the collection i have just so i can sell it. i just thought i'd 'share' with you all...

Watching him dash away, swinging an old bouquet - dead roses
Sake and strange divine Uh-h-h-uh-h-uh you'll make it
Passionate bright young things, takes him away to war - don't fake it
Sadden glissando strings
Uh-h-h-uh-h-uh - you'll make it

Who'll love Aladdin Sane
Battle cries and champagne just in time for sunrise
Who'll love Aladdin Sane

Motor sensational, Paris or maybe hell - I'm waiting
Clutches of sad remains
Waits for Aladdin Sane - you'll make it

Who'll love Aladdin Sane
Millions weep a fountain, just in case of sunrise

a couple of days ago, i received what amounts to one of the best messages i've ever gotten. maybe it's because i've been infected by voyeuristically observing 'zaadz', but i've found that i can't just keep it to myself. i want to share it with everyone...

get around to cleaning, straightening, organizing this massive mess, somehow make it easier to access and record (i suppose some kind of multi-track recording device, even if only a four track, might make it easier somewhat, if less 'organic'). gotta get myself back into it again. getting tired of picking up a cd and finding that someone has stolen my ideas, both large and small pieces...

overly sensitive stomach type need not read on...

last night, one hour before i went to bed, i ate an ENTIRE box of Fiddle Faddle (couldn't help it... it was flavored with Heath toffee. i'd stopped near the 'midpoint', but didn't get up and put it away, and, well, things happen...). an hour after i went to bed, i woke up, coughing. aspirated again... got up for a few minutes so i could 'finish' coughing, then ate 3 antacids and went back to bed (good thing i hardly ever drink to the point of drunk... i really don't feel like 'going' the same way as Jimi Hendrix).
when i awoke this morning, i felt a bit weak, a bit warm. went in to work (had to... only person with keys this morning), got things set up, then, at opening, announced that i was going home. can't afford it, but sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. last i checked, my temperature was at 100.8', which i'm (only) guessing means my body is fighting off an infection in my lungs...
it's about to be a big pet cuddle party in bed, as soon as %#$&ing tribe gets over their 'maintenance' so i can post this. now i just gotta figure out what would be best with my tea... aspirin, acetaminaphen, or ibuprofen... or 6 of one, half dozen of the other...

Today's energy will be making you think only about your relationships, dear Taurus. It isn't so easy to have relationships with others, as you may have noticed. The respective demands of each one in a relationship can be difficult to understand. Moreover, the demands of others can obscure your path, or cause you to detour from it. Consider this: the less we ask for in a relationship, the more flexible and deeper it becomes!
