Way, way back in the day, we were warned by those women (or wymin, as the alternative spelling went ... where did all the wimyn go?) who thought about these things, that we (as a bunch of forward-looking, freedom-seeking females) couldn't just expect to act like men & hope to ad-
vance the Human Condition. And time has proved this right! Yes! We are free to treat men, and each other, like SHIT because we're EQUAL! And the estrogen-driven shit-treating, as far as I'm concerned, can be worse than the testosterone-flavored variety because it often masquer- ades as "equality." Way, way back in the day, when some deluded, naive people (male & female) were convinced that women would save the world, I would have to stifle peals of loud, uncontrollable, cynical laughter (I'm not so self-restrained anymore). We have so much historical, cultural, emotional etc, etc, crap caked upon us that really all we can do is scrape it off, see what's there & get on with it. Like you said in your other post, we are PEOPLE first, a set of genitalia second. But if we don't kill ourselves & our planet first, it will take a good long, and I mean LONG, time to get to this point. I have to stop thinking about this, it's just sad .............. |
