organizing SLOPs made me recall the conflicts i had with DPW and the commissary on the playa. these happened in early august, before the festival opened.

I am amazed and pleased at how the SLOPs project is going. Amazed and pleased at the burner response - and at the non-burner response, even at the Moose Lodge.

i have a few things i'm proud of. one of them is probably the key to all the others. i am proud that i have been able to take much of the force of my anger and rage and turn it into something else. i'm proud that i've been able to turn that rage into a fierce appreciation and nurturing of empowerment - of myself and others. i'm proud that i've been able to make things that are beautiful, write things that are meaningful...........

i could have spent my life as a Nazi hunter. i think... read more I recently again heard the comment "Only the strong survive." It is my perception that is only marginally correct. Only the jive survive. The strong get taken from behind.
My friend Joe was a one man operation, making and selling ergonomic equipment. He had gotten an order he couldn't handle alone and needed a hand. This was a big break and he needed things done inexpensively and correctly. I was doing consulting and things were slow, so off we went to LA to install some equipment at various field offices of a major corporation.
