When I get all steamed up, then I shout:
Adventures in dancing and costuming.
Sat, May 3, 2008 - 2:06 PMI bought a backless black choli. Very bizarre thing, indeed, it is. First, I had to get my boobs to stay in it. (Stay! *pops out* Damn it! No! Stay in there! *fumbles* Where are the ties? In the cups. Damn!) Then I was having issues tying it. Then I didn't tie it tight enough, because Boobie the First was working it's way out the bottom. Once I got everything saddled in and tied up right - it's pretty nice.
It's odd, because posture checks are a little clearer in the mirror when I'm wearing this, as opposed to some of my other things.
Oh, and I put new elastic on my zills, so my fingers are a little purple-ish. The elastic will loosen a little...

I know it must not be true for everyone (since we all have different body types) but I find that when I am in correct posture, the ties at my neck fall more freely between my shoulder blades. When I am not engaged, the tie is tight at the back of my neck.
Glad to hear your fingers are purplish.....like the lady said, "no one ever lost a finger from zilling" =-) |

I feel so confident in my cholis! I just got my black drop-shoulder choli in the mail yesterday and I LOVE it!! Cholis are so flattering on just about any dancer. Purple zil fingers are so purty!
Sounds like you're having fun over there with costuming :) |

Yes, I've noticed that with the ties, too, Traci - and it's a great reminder to keep good posture.
I know it'll be awhile until the zilastic is comfy, but, hey, my zilling sounds a lot cleaner than before, when they were loosely flopping around. It's all just, you know, getting used to this new territory of costuming, as well. I'm not normally the kinda gal who likes to go shopping for clothes, so I'm a little taken aback by how excited I am about my dance costuming. It's just...so much fun! and so beautiful! Can I wear fluffy skirts all the time? (No - it's hard to play the organ with them on. Bummer) |
