They say every artist dips his brush in his own soul! That is what I see in your work. You have become a wonderful friend to me, and Ani you are Absolutely Fabulous and I adore you!

Ani's spirit embodies the core of bardry... her poetry is personal and unique in inspiration and style, and at the same time universally accessable and meaningful. Her easy touch with language and unassuming innocence in her words belies the complexity of rhythm and layered metaphor. There is much for me to learn in the reading here.

Awen, my friend. Thank you for your words.

Hello Ani,
Just a few words that I would like to say to you Sweet Lady. You are a gentle Kind Hearted Soul that I am glad to call friend. Someone that I can talk to about things and not be ridiculed. Someone that makes me feel at ease, someone that I can laugh with. I call you more than friend....you are Family!
All is well, Love bard

I only recently met Ani on Tribe, but am touched by her connection to her ancestors and how she honors them. I am also impressed by the love she shows her living family, and how each member has been gifted with the planting of a symbolic tree, rooting each soul firmly into the land. I loved learning about her journeys, and appreciate her sharing such beautiful travel pictures and unique artwork. I hope to get to know Ani better, and continue to share!

Freyja

Bees wax original sculpture. Only one sculpture was created from the mould. It was a gift of healing for a friend. Each feather on her cape, every line was a prayer for healing.

My Thor Sculpture

This was the second sculpture of the Nordic pantheon. The first was Freyja. It will have a mould made in order to cast it. To create a sculpture I ask for permission first. It is not an easy task of just deciding how a god looks.

Life Evolving

Mac - no - not BIG Mac or a fruit.... But I have transitioned to a Macintosh Powerbook Pro. Slowly the facility in using this format is coming. But then until I went to work a laptop was never something I worked with. The keyboard took some getting used to.

I have to say I am tearing my hair out about a flash slide show I created. The previous one worked - but that was the old MX programme. The browser shows it is working in the preview aspect of my Dreamweaver - but as the web files up... read more

I rise early to make it to work.... many of the people on my team are up late nights with work because it involves foreign time zones....

Mostly I am a 'traffic cop' nudging people and reminding them .... don't ask. A totally non-glamorous but essential job. LOL

I am hanging in there..... lots to learn.

Last Summer my friend Georgien (from the Netherlands) and her lovely man Rob came to visit Seattle. We had such a lovely time for a few days. The two of them were making their way around the world. Such an amazing trip. At the time Rob was saying he wanted to get married, and so the two of them set a date after they returned to the Netherlands. I had planned to go for their wedding, but alas, life.... and my own evolutions took place. But today i got the most wonderful postcard in the ma... read more

Singing used to be an important part of my life which I want to reclaim. There is a wonderful opportunity for women to explore the use of their voices with Sylvi Alli, who will be in Seattle from Berkeley, CA. This is a recent interview with Sylvi: www.paratheatrical.com/voicei...ew.html

The days move by quickly, and I have not been around much on Tribe, or anywhere on internet much. I started working a full-time job and Friday I got my first paycheck deposited. It is a good feeling after 9 years of not working a full time job. Perhaps it is not much at first - and that is a good thing - because my confidence is growing. The people are great. Working with one of my dear friends is great.

My life is full. - very full.

More as all rolls along!

It is interesting how one friend's blog entry triggered a series of thoughts.... Something about the magic of Disneyland... But my thoughts took me elsewhere - for Disney, though a 'happy genre' from our culture, has much to answer for in the twisting of folk tales. Many of the original folk tales did not have happy endings - with a different 'moral.' My mind wandered to the whole story of The Little Mermaid, or of Pinocchio and the Blue Fairy... and then thoughts of the story of A.I.-Arti... read more

May 1st.... It was a busy day -

First my mother came to share this day - She gave birth to me - so in a way it is very much a shared day. I have survived due to her nurturing at times. Then my dear friend Sheilagh came to share time. It was great. We work well together in the kitchen! Perhaps that says a lot about the two of us as friends. We may be working every day together soon.

Little by little friends drifted in, my eldest daughter Margaret came, and then there was another k... read more

Tomorrow is my birthday - May 1 - and my big six oh oh as I call it. It is a time that my life feels far more alive than I was at even 45 or 35. There have been many transitions even in this last year for me that have opened my eyes to many aspects of how my responses and actions form the realities around me. It has been a time of letting go of old hurts and feelings of failure - a purging so to speak. There has also been a time of thinking about how I love/show love. It is all very compl... read more

O.k. I am a bit nervous. For the first time in years, I am going on a job interview. Not just any old interview, but a job that might offer me an opportunity to grow and continue having a job. So.... I am on the 'mature' side.... My knowledge of computers, web and internet are fair - to good, but my forte is of writing poetry and being an artist. But this is the real world where real money speaks.

Today the bus will be my carriage - it is fairly easy from my place to downtown, but i... read more

To all of you who shared thoughts and solutions to my recent Web Hosting woes.... THANK YOU. I will deal with it. :)

The flow of energies has been very interesting with this late spring. Rather than sit and wait for a phone call from someone about a job, I need to keep doing and being. LOL there is nothing like waxing one's wood floors to take up excess energy! In that process I found something I had been looking for a very long time. This is a perfect example of how house elves play ... read more

It seems I have been spending hours upon hours trying to solve a problem with Lunarpage.com. Suffice it to say, I will not try them again after two goes at this. Meaning that over a couple of years ago I made a website for my husband but in the length of time forgot why I did not return to finish the site. I could never get back in to change anything. Now I have his website permanently stuck with no way to remove it. Not only that these people insist the problem is not theirs. It has been ... read more

In 2004 I took a friend and his boys to La Push, Washington, which is the Quilleute Indian Reservation on the coast of the Olympic Peninsula. It is an amazing place where the trees meet the Pacific Ocean. Upon returning from the trip and my friend returned to England, I sat down to write this short piece inspired by the place and bits of lore. Pieces of mica were actually used to create charms for protection as they were considered to be the scales of the serpent. The 'serpent' was truly t... read more
