My degree ceremony was one of the most special days of my life - almost as special as my wedding day in fact; so much so that I didn't want it to end. The day started with a limousine arriving at my house to take me, my husband Emrys, mum, dad, and my sister Lucy, to Ely. We had leisurely lunch in a wonderful restaurant called the Boatyard (highly recommended!). I then got gowned up (my gown had been delivered a couple of... read more
My academic dress arrived this morning! I tried it on straight away, over my jeans and t-shirt - I am honestly more exctied about trying my gown on than trying on a new peice of dance costuming: It represents 6 years of hard work in a subject that excites me and which is to be my future career.

And ahead of time too - for a change! That is the end of six years hard slog. All that time ago, this point seemed to distant and unobtainable; but suddenly here I am, at the end of a long journey. It feels strange - almost an anti-climax. I guess I'll feel different when I actually get my results and finally have my graduation ceremony n... read more
... I've been checking out some of the post that have appeared on various tribes over the last few days. There seems to be so much bickering and bitching going on in some posts at the moment :-(

about me
I'm just a girl who wants to share her love of belly dance with everyone!
I've been dancing for 28 years, most of those in professional competitive Latin American dance and I am a qualified teacher in this style. Have been bellydancing for over 13 years now and run successful classes and perform all over the UK. Was personally certified by Carolena Nericcio in FCBD format ATS earlier this year and at the same time she made me her UK representative - a huge honour and a role which I will try fulfill the best of my ability. I love all forms of belly dance but my heart lies with pure forms of Egyptian and ATS - both completely different from each other but beautiful in their own ways. I run regular Belly dance and American Tribal Style (FatChance format only!) classes in Essex - you can find out more on www.bellydancinguk.co.uk I run my own business and I have a degree in psychology - now studying for an MSc in Psychological Research Methods.

Re: New UK ATS Website

Thats a good question!
Obviously the 'teachers' page will be limited to those who have GS who do actually teach. I will probably add an extra page which will include those who have GS but don't teach but perhaps have a troupe available for p... read more discussion post on Mon, July 14, 2008 - 4:09 AM

Oh I'm so glad that I'm not the only Dr Who geek here!!!!!
It was a great ending - such a relief that the gorgeous Mr Tennant is still the Doctor - who'd have thought that sci-fi could be soooo sexy!....but so sad that he ends up all by himself... read more discussion post on Fri, July 11, 2008 - 9:20 AM
