Ghawazee Coat

I finally got round to making the Ghawazee coat I have been planning to make for a REALLY LONG TIME.

Unfortunately the coin bra I was also engaged in making for a REALLY LONG TIME is about to be ripped apart, mostly due to the fact that I appear to have lost weight and the damn thing no longer even remotely fits me.

Damn.

Oh the apathy.

I keep on meaning to make stuff and post pictures here, but never seem to have the motivation or money. Due to lack of funds I will not be buying any new material (not that I do that often) for at least a couple of months. I wonder if I can survive without buying notions? I may just have to. No problem, I finally got round to making a start on the coin bra that I bought the kuchi coins and cowrie shells for LAST YEAR when I still had money. >_> That should keep me occupied for a while. Pictures will go up as soon as it is finished.

Well, photos of my first bellydance-related sewing project can be found in my pictures. Tie dyed harem pants and tie top. I'm rather pleased with how they turned out. My kuchi coins and cowrie shells arrived from their respective sellers on eBay and I am very happy with them. I'm intending to costuming crazy over the next couple of days. One of the few good things about being unemployed over the holidays, you get to spend a ridiculous amount of time messing about with scraps of cloth and playing dress-up.

Productive time! (yeah right)

Now exams have finished I may finally be able to attack my sewing pile and get some stuff done. I also just bought some kuchi coins and cowrie shells for adorning tassels/belts/bras/whatever the hell else stays still long enough.

I also really need to make that panel skirt I have been meaning to make, as well as the batik hipscarf. Also, need to find out how the hell to attach peacock feathers to tassels (even if you tie them won't they just slide out?) and find something to do with all the swan feathers and iridescent duck feathers I gathered from around the campus loch ages ago. Apart from anything else I really need to wash them, they really stink. :p

First Post

Well, I have finally just subscribed to Tribe. Seems to be better for networking in the areas I'm interested in than most blog sites, other than LJ but that's bit dead these days.

I would make a longer post but I should really be doing essay shit. I have procrastinated long enough.

Lets see how this goes.
