It's Cold Outside- coat making workshop (events » community) Monday, November 5, 2007 - 8:15 AM So here's the deal. I'm looking at running 1 possibly 2 coat making weekend workshops. The cost will be $50 for the weekend if you have your own sewing machine and $75 if you need to use one of mine. You buy materials, come on over, and I will help you step by step make the playa/winter coat of your dreams or the perfect gift for a family member or best friend. The process will include a pre-sewing day consulation to figure out what type of pattern we need to draft for you and how much fabric (and what type) and other materials you will need to buy. I will be available to go fabric shopping with those who want personal help for an aditional $25 (gotta cover some of my time).
I will be offering 2 different weekends Nov 17th and 18
and Dec 1st and 2nd. Saturday we will run 9 am till 4 or 5 and Sunday we will go 10am till whenever you get your coat finished up. I have found the coats takes about 8 hours of constant work. We will run the whole weekend because I want everyone to be able to take thier time and get all thier questions answered.
Some sewing abbility is recommended but not required. If you'd like to be involved in one of the workshops just shoot me an email let me know if you have a machine and what weekend you are interested in. Space will be limited to how many people I feel I can fit in my apartment all working on coats at one time.
