Beatles Cartoon Lighter
(in The Beatles)
I happen to love Zippo lighters, not quite as much as The Beatles, but close. Imagine my surprise when I found a Beatles cartoon lighter on EBay. I didn't even know there was official Beatles cartoon merchandise! I wonder if this means an eventual...

Re: Across The Universe ~ Movie
(in The Beatles)
Speaking of that awful Bee Gees movie, I had to be drunk the first time I saw it. It's sad when one roots for the "bad" guys (Aerosmith as FVB--Future Villain Band).

Re: Wiccans or witches
(in Heathen Hearth)
Well, I am not sure that I agree with Swain that wicca and its feminine version wicce (from which our modern word "witch" derives) meant a magic practitioner of the Anglo-Saxon tribal religions. My impression from its use in Old English is that it...

Re: imaginary situation, fun question
(in The Beatles)
Well, it's a difficult question to answer. But, I do have to say that there are at least four people on the cover of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band who would HAVE to be on the cover of the imaginary album: The Beatles! Anyway, here is my 16...

I told him that it was BS--he was lying. Regardless, I stumbled out of bed and made my way to living room. There I learned that Sw...

Today it will have been twenty years since my father's death. It was on October 16, 1987 that my father passed from this world.

I realise that I am probably biased, but I have always regarded my father as a most remarkable man. He never went beyond the 8th grade in school, yet he was one of the most intelligent men I ever knew. Without the benefit of college, my father knew a good deal about veterinary medicine, civil engineering, and even ecology. He was the first conservationist and ecol... read more
I can't say how often I'll write in this blog. I already have a blog at "mercurie.blogspot.com", but I'll try to post here fairly regularly.

Anyhow, last night I heard on the late night news that the building which contained the barber shop I used to go to had collapsed. The building was well over 100 years old and the town of Salisbury hadn't particularly taken care of it. Still, it does sadden me a bit. Nathan Logan was the first barber I ever went to (before that my father cut my... read more
