This is one of the more important days on the calendar for me. It was 27 years ago today that John Lennon was assassinated. I can still remember that morning clearly. I was sick in bed with a rather vicious bout of the flu. Obviously, I wasn't going to school that day. I was still asleep when Swain woke me up with the words, "John Lennon is dead. He's been shot." He never went beyond the 8th grade in school, yet he was one of the most intelligent men I ever knew. Anyhow, last night I heard on the late night news that the building which contained the barber shop I used to go to had collapsed.
