I will be filling in for the regular DJ on 'Calling All Gods' 3-6am Saturday morning (3/29). please listen to me on 88.9fm KUCI in Irvine or at www.kuci.org on the live internet stream!

the first hour will probably be techno, the other two hours probably freeform/eclectic. make your requests here! remember, the requests need to be an indie artist who has had little to no mainstream exposure. I may or may not have access to their music.

well, i don't wanna get anyone's hopes up too high, including my own, but i might have the opportunity to visit Chicago next week. don't wanna jinx it by talking about it too much but i will have to do some research tommorrow....

had to miss bellydancing again on sunday cause of moving-related exhaustion...however i was thinking of trying to get some of the girls together at my new place to practice within the next few weeks...we shall see.

had to miss bellydancing today, due to moving-related issues. my body is cramping, my skin is having all sorts of problems and my wrist is still bugging me when i rotate it at an extreme angle. hope i will get through this ok.

guess i've been eating pretty healthy, though, which is good.

BDSM burnout

recently on the tribe.net LA Goth community we've been talking about how a lot of club regulars are burned out with the fact that almost every single goth club now has a BDSM room. from a personal standpoint, i am just sick of seeing it. the subs overact, the Doms are often annoying and have annoying groupies. it seems to be more oriented towards tourists or something, because goth club regulars are pretty much totally blase towards that kind of thing at this point.

in addition, in the L.A. scene at least, the slutty fetish fashions have completely taken over. of course the more plus-sized chicks usually have to go with the classic goth look or the cyber look, but if you are anywhere under a size 10 it seems like you are automatically a fetish slut now, or just wear your underwear to clubs. i am soooo tired of it! where is the creativity?

i was also thinking about how it would be really cool to have a club that fused goth/industrial culture (or maybe just goth/darkwave/ethereal?) with some folky/hippy/indie-folk music. it could try to promote a more 'world culture' appeal in addition to the goth thing, and maybe have tribal bellydancers perform. i doubt anything like this would ever take off as a regular idea, but it would be cool as hell.

moving

so it looks like it's about 95 percent confirmed that i will be moving into the Santa Ana Castle of Geek next Saturday, the 29th. since that is the case: is anyone interested in
a. helping me move furniture from my room at my mom's (upstairs) to the downstairs living room on either thursday the 27th or early friday evening
b. helping me move furniture into my new room on Saturday after i transport it by UHaul

David, my future roommate may be able to help me move on Saturday but it's not confirmed.
