The Music of the Earth

let me tell you a story about the music of the earth...

The Music of the Earth:

One day while Nanguoziqi was leaning against a table with his head tilted back, he leisurely fell into a state of no-self.

Master you dont seem to be yourself to day. what is the matter, a disciple asked

Hhhmmm.... good question, Ziyou. I just entered a world where i forgot my own existence, came his reply...

You know, you have heard the music of people, but have you never heard the music of the earth.

And even if you have heard the music of the earth, you have never really heard the music of heaven!

The music of people must always come from instuments...

But the music of the earth is the sound of the wind... wind is the breathing of the earth.

When the wind begins to blow, every opening there is resopnds with sound.

Can you think of what a big wind is like?

The wind blows and the openings in the huge mountain trees respond--- some are like nostrils, some like mouths, some like ears, some are like circles or mortars and others are like deep pools or shallow gullies.

All together the openings emit sounds,

like rushing of water, or a shower of arrows; like screaming or breathing...

Some sounds are coarse while others are fine; some are distant and others close.

Together all the openings harmonise in a chorus of sounds...

After the wind has passed, the openings become quiet, leaving the tree branches swaying gently back and forth.

This my friends is the music of the earth....

My Blog

Renascence

by Edna St. Vincent Millay

All I could see from where I stood
Was three long mountains and a wood;
I turned and looked another way,
And saw three islands in a bay.
So with my eyes I traced the line
Of the horizon, thin and fine,
Straight around till I was come
Back to where I'd started from;
And all I saw from where I stood
Was three long mountains and a wood.
Over these things I could not see;
These were the things that bounded me;
And I could touch them with my... read more

Came across this Alen Watts piece the other day whilst mucking about in cyberspace and its gold, regardless if you "believe", use it as a metaphor or just a interesting story to pass along.....

"God also likes to play hide-and-seek, but because there is nothing
outside God, he has no one but himself to play with. But he gets over
this difficulty by pretending that he is not himself. This is his way of
hiding from himself. He pretends that he is you and I and all the people
in the world... read more

Tell a wise person, or else keep silent,
Because the massman will mock it right away.
I praise what is truly alive,
what longs to be burned to death.

In the calm water of love-nights,
where you were begotten, where you have begotten,
a strange feeling comes over you
when you see the silent candle burning.

Now you are no longer caught
in the obsession with darkness,
and a desire for higher love making
sweeps you forward.

Distance does not make you falter
now, arriving in m... read more

Viktor Schauberger (30 June 1885 – 25 September 1958) an Austrian forester, was fascinated with the beauty of water. He researched for many years the different properties of water and came up with a great number of theories, really amazing stuff i highly recommend looking into them if you have not already....

here are two fascinating videos, but the narrator voice is verrrrryyyyy dull, definitely worth watching once you get over the guys voice......enjoy!
