a few months ago I got a friend request from my brother. I hadn't heard from him in several years so this was out of the blue. There used to be alot of bad history between us. for the longest time he lived with our mother. he was supposed to be taking care of her but the truth was more like he was mooching off her. it was a real toxic relationship between them. Eventually he got married moved on and finally got a life of his own. It was real easy to do almost nothing and subsist on what she would give him. I had been removed from her custody at the age of 12. I saw the toxic stuff way before him. Unfortunatly he blamed me for breaking up the family and for a while did everything he could to sabotage my attempts to make good with any of our relations.
That was the sort of behaivior I expected from him this time. Instead he has turned out to be a kind reasonable human being. it didn't take long for him to recognise all the games our mom plays to get what she wants while pitting us against each other. So over the last few months we compared notes and have come to a greater understanding of what really went down.
Then a couple nights ago we were talking about goals (he is working on his masters degree in teaching). I told him about my problem getting medical insurance if I work and he suggested I get a job online and even showed me where to go. I have made about 20 dollars in about 4 or 5 hours. the pay is variable based on the task at hand and can pay anything from ten cents to several dollars.
I had wanted to buy another vehicle before moving and now I have a way to do that. This means I am postponing my departure to Portland until after I get a car or motorcycle.

I think he showed me something really good. and yes it does make up for some of the crappier shit he did.
