They Like Me! :)

November 29, 2006
Maeve Lyonessa moves with sensual and procise movements when she dances. You can see the inner Diva trying to come out of every part of this Diva's body as she shimmes across the stage. When she moves you can see her inner beauty screaming to be free.
I have been lucky enough to take pictures of this women outside of belly dance and I have to say she has more power, beauty, and inner Diva breaking out of her with each passing day. Maeve Lyonessa is becoming an even more amazing women and dancer then she already is, WATCH OUT WORLD!!!

Maeve Lyonessa is truly an "intoxicating little lion." She has a style about her that is reminiscent of the beauty queens of the 1920's: elegant, enchanting, mysterious. She is a powerful force and truly a woman who owns her gifts.

Maeve Lyonessa is a dear-hearted, fun-loving beauty whose presence I enjoy on many levels. She is a marvelously passionate dancer, a sensitive person and a great conversationalist. I am looking forward to dancing once again with Maeve, not to mention sharing wonderful kitty stories!

Dear Diary

---Call me a sappy chick, but I just really like this. Well except the wind chime part - that's weird :). But the rest of it resonates with me.----

A time comes in your life when you finally get it ... when, in the midst of all your fears and insanity, you stop dead in your tracks and somewhere the voice inside your head cries out - ENOUGH!

Enough fighting and crying or struggling to hold on. And, like a child quieting down after a blind tantrum, your sobs begin to subside, you shudd... read more

Not all people suck. But the vast majority can be really disappointing at times.

When I volunteer at the local shelter, I walk people through the lost/surrendered animal kennels to see if they can find their lost animal. It's not a rough job. I get to hear some really, really weird stories about what people think happened to their animals. People get strange, negative, obsessive ideas when their animals get lost. I'm not making fun of the trauma that one goes through - and I'm not tr... read more

Wow, is this year every kicking into gear fast! We're talking six-speed, baby (or mayhaps the new Lexus 8-speed?)...

First (always!) dancing.

Our shows are 2.5 weeks away! 2.5 weeks to polish my solo, stop adding different moves to it (I swear, soon it will all be improv!), polish the group dances I know, and work on new material. Granted, the new material doesn't have to be (or rather won't be!) ready for the shows coming up in February, but still - can't just sit around & not gro... read more

Today was my first race of 2007. It was an 8K (4.97 miles).

I went back into training mode (after a few months off) at the beginning of January - 3 days running, 2 days spinning (cycling), 2 days off.

My original goal was to come out my first race at 10 minutes per mile. However, after trying that out on the treadmill early in the week, I decided it might be a bit optimistic. I consistently aimed too high last year and ended up with several injuries. I'm trying to tone down the compet... read more

So, what - 2006 is the year of the holiday tragedy? Not only have several of my close friends lost family members or had family members admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery, but now my grandma is in the hospital. She almost got hit by a car backing out of the driveway. Clearly it's too much of a hassle for someone to look in that REARVIEW mirror "thingie" in their car. They just went. So my grandma had to try to run out of the way. Luckily the car missed her, but she slipped & ... read more
