hmmm...this is like one of those essays wherein you have to capture the quintessential characteristic that defines you against all else and establishes your indentification and affiliation or lack thereof, and isolates some main event in your life that brought you to where you are today or illustrates artfully your passion for somethingorother...well, I could tell a pretty story and paint a lovely image for you with all kinds of fun adjectives but really that would just boil down to me projecting my self-image out for you to interpret through yours...sorry, not really in the mood. That's too big an expenditure of energy right now. I know what you're thinking, that the paragraph I just wrote is probably an equal expenditure of energy. Not so, because that kind of pseudo-analytical resistance comes naturally to me, whereas a concise description of self does not...ah, what the hell, I'll give it a shot: I rarely if ever get bored, love to read, am in a somewhat ironic constant spiritual struggle to be at peace, write poetry compulsively, fluctuate between intovert and extrovert all the time, and I derive great joy from the study of history. I also love to meditate and wish I was more disciplined about it. I am Jewish, and I love living in, contributing to, and comprehending the complexities of that global, spiritual, tribal, community which is today largely comprised of movers, shakers, and traditionalists all vying for some form of unity. I like the idea of aspiring to be a world citizen, but at the end of the day I am never exactly sure what that means in terms of my practical everyday existence.
