about me
I'm a 36 year old married mom of 3 great kids. I've been married for over 13 years now to the best husband a gal could ask for. Aside from my marriage and family--I don't have much. (of course they are everything to me and as long as I have them the world is good) I have a hard time making new friends - I am often misunderstood. I absolutly love to laugh even at inappropriate times which tends to get me into trouble . I almost always say the wrong things. I love learning to belly dance and the past 2 years that I have been working have been the best I've felt about myself in forever! I've never been good at anything or had anything I worked really hard for or was passionate about but I think with patience and hard work I could be good at this. Not yet haha! My goal in bellydance is not performing. I'm not saying never but it isn't why I drill 4xs a week, it isn't why I obsess and think about bellydance all the time. My goal is gaining control over my own body. All through my life control over my own body has been taken over and over . I won't bore you with the lil details but these events have shaped me into the woman I am today. I have never had a positve opinion of myself or of my body and slowly that is changing. I love the challange of willing my body to do things it never thought of! I love that through bellydance I feel beautiful and strong and for the first time ever comfortable in my own skin. I am asked alot by my family and others who know I bellydance when will I perform. Don't hold your breath. I may never perform on a stage--I am perfectly happy dancing in my room with the door locked.

(in Bellydance Health, Fitness, and Anatomy)
I love yogatoday.com and do yoga with that site about 4xs per week. You can check out their youtube channel where they have some shorter and full length practices. The website offers one free class per week but for $10 a month you have access to...

Ok--2 years in--I can't dance. I can drill---oh I can damn drill all day. I can't actually dance and I don't know when or if that will come for me. I guess as long as nobody is watching it isn't a problem. I've come to the conclusion I am not ...

I guess as long as nobody is watching it isn't a problem. I've come to the conclusion I am not a dancer--not a bellydancer. I may be learning to bellydance but I don't know if I will ever actually be able to call myself a bellydancer and know it to be true.

I have been working so hard towards no specific goal for so long I blew a fuse so to speak. I am dusting myself off and have a new stratagy. I had been taking classes for 19 months and working on my own at home and at first made great progress but for the past few months or so was starting to feel kinda stale. I attended my first workshop at Southern Fusion Fest in the summer of 08 and then TribalCon in February of 09 and a 3 hour workshop with Moria in March of 09. Each of these workshop...
