I am looking for a hunter green tribal skirt that someone doen't need or wants to part with. I am watching what I spend for the next couple of weeks due to 5 birthdays, 4 mother's day and an Anniversary that I had to pay for. So a new skirt is out of the question for now. May is a busy month!! So if anyone has one to sell, I need it in the next couple of weeks! You can reply to this post or message me with a price. So tomorrow is my birthday and I am going to be 30. I think this is a tough one. I am in huge denial about my age, I have the Peter pan syndrome. So I am not very excited to say the least. I will NEVER be in my twenties again and I am having a hard time excepting that I am all grown up. The older I get the faster the years a flying by. A year used to seemed like forever and now I am like "where does time go?' My kids are growing up way to fast and will be adults with families before I know it. It really makes you want to make everyday count. Sometimes I am way to busy to stop and smell the roses, but if I don't I may have regrets and I don't want to have any. It's funny but when I was 25 everyone thought I was a teenager, now I don't even get carded anymore. What's up with that? I still have a long life to live and know that I am still young but omg.......I'm 30. I think I may have a early mid-life crisis. On a positve note, I will wish one day that I was 30 again and remember how silly I was....lol.

The workshop with Carmine I took was awesome, and then the hafla afterwords was just fantastic! We all had such a good time just eating dancing and chatting to some good live music. Everyone did such a great job with the showcase too. Haley..WOW....that little girls rocks, I think I need a lesson from her...LOL. I am so proud of her for doing a solo and then owning it. Carmine kept the music going, we were so lucky to dance to such a talented mans drum. I think my favorite part was the dance circle. Encouraging each other, doing what we love. I feel so bonded with all you ladies because we all do share a love (addiction, whatever) of dance. I find myself more comfortable with all my fellow sistas than anyone. Thanks to Yasmine and all Magic Hips for all your hard work to get the party going and thanks to Carmine for taking the time to come to Charlotte and teaching us southerners how to drum, your awesome. To my troupemate Joy, I hope you had a wonderful birthday too. Can't forget Gary for taking the troupe photos of us. We all looked beautimous in our glittetdot. I just can't wait to do it again : )

I came aross this thread and it really hits home and sure it will with a majority of you! To most of us Belly Dancing is more than a hobby and becoming a lifestyle. When I go clothes shopping I find myself looking for things I could use for belly dance instead of everyday life. As a matter of fact I could care less about new clothes. When I watch tv, when driving, eating and breathing I am doing some sort of drill. Our lives become consumed by it, but that's a good thing. This kid had to learn the hard way! Just a refresher course on why you never let little ones and some big ones run with sharp objects. Definitely made me switch my kiddies to spoons!!!

So as you all may know I had my first restaurant perfomance last night. Well, first the snow came and I wasn't sure if we were still going to perform and found out we were. So I put on my new belt and bra that my hubby actually went to the Belly Dance Shop to get me. It was to big so I had to get another one but it's the thought that counts. Anyway, I took some pictures and we were out the door. Everything was fine until we came to a complete stop on I-77 around exit 9. We proceeded to put our car in park and sit there for an hour and forty-five minutes! We finally were made to turn around on the interstate and drive the wrong way to an on ramp to get off the interstate. So, I missed my first perfomance at the Kabob House. Thanks to everyone who did come out in the weather to support me, you all are awesome. I will be there performing in 2 weeks so please come out again. Turns out on the news it was a 5 car accident and someone was trapped in the car. No one was seriously hurt so at least that was something good!

For those of you who missed my other blog...this was my first real Christmas since I never celebrated due to religion. We went all out and bought all the kids so many gifts and decorated the tree. I really felt what Christmas was about! Being with your family and seeing the happy faces was enough for me. The holiday's were fabulous! Thank to my friends and family and most of all my hubby for making it all happen! I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays just as much. Now I am ready to SHIMMY!!!!

Yep....It's my first real Christmas! I was born and raised as a Jehovah's Witness...(you know the ones that come knocking on the door) and never celebrated ANY holiday actually, including my own Birthday. This year we are going all out so I can find out what X-mas is all about. I do feel like I miss out on the whole thing. It's not even the presents it's the smell and the feel of it all. It's kinda like everyone is eating chocolate around you and you can't have any....it sucks. So we have the tree and docorations and so many presents for my kids. I am making Christmas dinner and even got some music to go with it all. I am so excited to see my kids faces! I am definitely in the spirit to celebrate. I hope everyone has a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Enjoy the food, the drinking and the family time. I am sure we will all get back to our classes with a few pounds to burn.

So I did it.....my first solo, and it was so much fun!!!! I think I am going to be cheezen for days. That's what belly dancing is all about, performing for everyone with your own creativity and style, though I am still trying to find mine. The crowd was so encouraging and I am so happy I went ahead with it. I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be, I was confident with my dance and my skills and just went out there and had a good time. If I would have messed up who would have known. I am addicted, it's definetly a rush!!! My daddy turned around and told the people behind him " that's my daughter!. I love to make my daddy proud.....

I am going to VEGAS!!!!!!!

So I am leaving for Las Vegas next Friday for 5 nights at the Mirage hotel. So super excited. I have never been to Vegas and me and my hubby are going to celabrating our 8 year Anniversary on the 24th. So I need some advice from any of you Vegas goers as to what I shouldn't miss. I am trying to put a plan into action so we can have everything figured out by the time we get there. Lisa suggested that I go to this Moroccan restaurant that I am definetly going to make some reservations at. They have live belly dancing and authentic food. So besides being completely drunk and belligerent the hole time i would like some extracurricular activities to attend too. I need to study up on my black jack too, damn it, I am going to win some money!!!

Sooo excited about this, does anyone know if Rachel will be at our Charlotte show??? I may even drive to VA to see her. I wish she would come here for another workshop (sigh). There isn't much info telling us about what's going on at Sofram either. Not sure if it's a performance or workshop??? Doesn't really matter cause I am there!!! Let me know if you all know anything.

Yep, he is what I expected and more, a fun entertaining and muti talented guy. So down to earth too. I had a blast at the show and the party! So nice to hang out with everyone and dance and get my drink on, think we were all feeling the drink part. Drummer dancer communication was challenging but I learned alot from that class and have some practicing to do now. Did everyone else have a blast too, tell me what you liked the most! Ahlam, it was so nice to see you again too hun, I am sure it was a great weekend for you!

Lightening struck my phone lines right in front of my house and I swear it was the loudest noise I have ever heard! I thought the end of the world was here...LOL....anyway it toasted my TV and messed up my fax machine and computer only to were I couldn't get online..Weird huh. But it was torture not being able to get on here and I am so excited to be on Tribe right now I just wanted to say hey to all of you. I have alot to catch up on since it's been almost a week so I will talk to ya or see ya soon!

Okay so what crap jobs have you worked in your life? I would have to say a very momorable one was when I lived in California it's really hard to find a job. Can't even get one a McDonalds!!! I worked at CeCe's Pizza standing outside in 115 degrees (I kid you not, HOTTTT) blazing sun on me holding a sign and getting honked at and yelled at and completely embarrased! That was probably my worst job. So please share! It will be funny to see where you all were before we all met. Maybe you still have the crap job.LOL

In the next couple of weeks I am going to do some painting and maintenance on my home....yay....it really needs some attention. My kids have used my walls to make their drawings, and masterpieces. Really there is not one wall or door that doesn't have marking on it! But they are getting out of that stage finally. I encourage them to be artistic but in the proper place...LOL. Anyway, I have a little space in my dining room were I can put some big mirrors and hopfully I can start having some get togethers at my home! I really miss seeing alot of you ladies since our class schedule has changed. Hopefully in a few weeks we can get together! We can dance, chat, and drink! I am soo excited to make some changes....changes are good and I really need some good ones. Anyway, hope you all would like to come and dance with me. Have a fabulous weekend!

Hope everyone has a great day and spends lots of good time with there families! We are going to watch the fire works tonight at the lake, and hopfully we don't get eaten by mosquitos, my hubby got into some poison ivy last time we were out there....LOL...he was miserable to say the least! so beware if you are going to the lake. What's everyone doing today? Eat, drink and get happy but be safe as well, there are alot of idiots on the road and they will be intoxicated. Hope everyone has fun and I will talk to ya later!!

Firstly, I had so much fun on Saturday!!!! Wish I had more opportunity to perform so I can get used to dancing in front of crowds though...LOL. Okay,,,,I have been working on a something for my hair. I tried a head band with flowers, it's way to poofie, now I took these flowers and stuck them to a barrette but I can't hide the stems. I have almost amputated my finger with a SHARP pair of scissors (ohhh, and it hurts so bad) and am still clueless to how I can use this in my hair. Help please! Any advice or recommendations would be wonderful or I will just give up and let my hair hang free. Thanks Ladies..

I don't kow why but I feel really discouraged here lately. Like I'm not as good as I used to be. Does everyone have these times?? My movements just are not working right. Maybe I just need to take a break or go buy something new to wear to get me in diva mode. Hope I kick it soon because recital is right around the corner and I am not feeling confident at all. Sorry guys just wanted to vent a little of my frustration to ya, hope you don't mind. Sometimes talking about it makes me feel better and i really need that!
