I switched jobs a year ago so that I could work with a boss that I liked, got support from, and that sort of stuff.

Well, he is quitting next week, and moving to Montana.

Its taken a couple of days, but now that i'm used to it, I'm ok with it. I figure, anywhere else where your boss leaves creates a promotion opportunity. A chance to manage more, be in charge more, advance your career. Well, this is no different. Sure, I lose guidance and support, but I'm ready to take on some of his old responsibilities. We'll see how this one shakes out. My next step is to negotiate the types and amount of support that I'm going to get from other people in the office.

I should know how this works out about 6 months from now.
