Chainmaile can be used in cabaret styles as well. Check out the picture of Juliane on (I think!) Geroge Abdo's The Art of Belly Dancing. Her bedleh is chain mail and gorgeous!

I'm so annoyed I could scream!
So (my usual start) my right knee got bad a few weeks ago, right before the Morocco seminar in New London. Fortunately, I took Sweetie's car which has cruise control or I don't know how I would have gotten home. After a few more days, I called my primary care physician. I explained: pain, fairly non localized, can still dance, hurts to keep bent, is starting to wake me up at night, cathces me off guard. First, let me introduce you to Spot, aka as "big fella" and "Buspar boy". He's a big spotted (obviously!) 20 lb mass of nerves. When my daughter's two cats had to spend a year with us, he ended up on Buspar-an antidepressant-to keep the household calm. It was actually a great one-upper: "My life sucks because, whine, whine" and all I needed to say was, "I have a cat on antidepressants. What do you think my life is like?"

So, things are getting back to as normal as they ever are around here. (So help me, we're not going on vacation any more; it always seems to result in ER trips). JIm's been formally diagnosed with diabetes-that's OK, we could both stand with losing a lot of weight. The stove finally quit so we had a new one delivered-that's OK, Jim always hated the other one and this one is much better. My knee is still a little glitch-that's NOT OK, but what are you gonna do? Although I started well. I was working on several dances for performance, plus my three classes all working on different things. Practicing every day. Then, during class Wed. night, I thought, oh my, my left knee hurts. Then, Ow, no, really, my knee really hurts. By the end of class, I'm thinking, Can I work this well enough to get to the car?
