Ex- Visual effects mercenary just moved back to bay area from L.A. and bought a bar/restaurant in Sebastopol called the Starlight, built in a 1949 Pullman Bar/Lounge Car. I lament the death of the era of Postwar Route 66 and Hwy.99. Rendered obsolete by modern efficiency, these forgotten two lane highways were populated by cool roadside cafe/bars where you were met by the owner, the beer was advertised as "ice cold" and the food was likely as not served by the person who prepared it. The era is gone, as are the highways and most all the little places along the way, so the wife and I had to start our own -come on by, the beer is ice cold...
