The census is winding down, and the number of Bounding Mainiacs is approaching 400. Wow!

Going Overboard, Bounding Main's latest CD, is scheduled to be finished The second week of December! This is our most collaborative work to date, and includes a few original songs, a few live takes, a few ballads, and lots and lots of fun! We have worked hard to make this our best CD yet, and we sincerely hope you are pleased with it.

We distribute via CDBaby, but it takes them about 30 days to process new CDs, which means you can't get it from them before Christmas, so if you want to order a copy directly from us, write to me a maggiehannington@hotmail.com and I'll email you an order form.

As soon as I have the CD's in hand, I will send your very own copy/ies out to you! Shipping time should beabout 3-4 days, but in this season, you'll want to give yourself lots of time. I will send out an email, confirming when I have sent your CD. (If it seems to be taking a lot of time, feel free to contact me to make sure I have received your check.)

Janesville Renaissance Faire May 17-18, 2008 (events » live music) Saturday, May 17, 2008 - 10:00 AM Bounding Main is happy to announce that they will be participating in this show. From the hosts: "The Janesville Renaissance Faire Inc. is excited to announce the third annual Janesville Renaissance Faire will be held at Traxler Park in Janesville, WI on May 17-18 2008. We invite you to come out and have some fun watching and interacting with the many performers as well as shopping at the exotic vendors during this exciting two-day trip into an old world experience!" The people running this event are top notch and the event, by all accounts, is said to be quite charming. We're looking forward to bringing our music and stories to this venue. Deport Bounding Main Campaign Extravaganza (events » live music) Saturday, May 31, 2008 - 4:00 PM Great news! Our final Deport Bounding Main event will be in the same building as the hilarious duo, MooNiE and BrooN. The great MooNiE himself will be gracing our humble stage, bringing his peculiar brand of comedic skills to wow the crowd. In return, Bounding Main will open for each of MooNiE and BrooN's performances with a couple tunes to warm up the crowd. It'll be the coolest thing since we opened for the 80's hair band Slaughter back in 2004 (true story!).

We welcome MooNiE and BrooN fans to our event and we strongly encourage you, our faithful fans, to buy tickets to see their show either before or after ours. If you've never seen these guys perform before, you've got to see what you've been missing! You won't be sorry.

We are also very happy to announce that joining us will be the delightful and exotic tribal dance troupe Rakhshanda. We last performed together at last year's Port Washington Pirate festival and they are great artists whose dances you will enjoy! Plus we'll have a silent auction, our final fund-raising effort for the Deport Bounding Main campaign for our European voyage this year!
The event will be at the Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest Illinois on May 31, 2008 4PM - 8PM. Included in our event will be several fundraising efforts, including a silent auction and Operation Share the Shanties. Port Washington Pirate Festival June 7-8, 2008 (events » live music) Friday, June 6, 2008 - 10:00 AM Bounding Main is happy to announce that they will be sharing their sea shanties with thousands of pirates that will descend upon Port Washington, Wisconsin for this fourth-annual Aaarh-straviganza. Already the second largest event in picturesque Port Washington, the Pirate Festival draws people from all over the United States for three days of fun and adventure. Last year there was a show featuring a cannon battle between the town militia and a pirate ship, a parade, musicians, variety acts, lots of vendors, food and pirates everywhere! We are delighted to be performing with The Jolly Rogers, Jesse Linder and Rakhshanda!

Festival Maritim in Bremen, Germany (events » live music) Friday, August 8, 2008 - 10:00 AM Bounding Main is delighted to announce that they're going overseas to Bremen, Germany for this long-running maritime venue, Festival Maritim. This will be our first European show and it is made possible by the incredible support of our fans through their participation in the Deport Bounding Main campaign (deport.boundingmain.com). It is through the generous and kind gifts of our friends that we are reaching our goal of raising enough money for our transportation to Europe for this event. Liereliet Festival in Workum, Friesland, The Netherlands (events » live music) Saturday, October 18, 2008 - 8:00 PM Bounding Main is happy to announce that they will be participating in a wonderful event in a town deep in the Netherlands that is richly steeped in maritime history. The Liereliet Festival has been hosting big names in the maritime music genre for a long time and have invited us to come out in 2008 to join in on the fun. The festival begins a week of sailing events with traditional vessels, called the Strontrace. Therefore part of the festival will be held in the harbor of the old Zuiderzee city of Workum. The start of the race with traditional ships built for the inland waters is on the following Monday. We are tickled pink to be able to join them for this wonderful event.
