Where is She now?
Sun, August 10, 2008 - 2:22 PMJuly 2008: a series of puppet workshops looking for Arnemecta (or Arnemetia) the Romano-Celtic Goddess of the waters of Buxton. Beginning in Poole’s Cavern with water seeping, trickling, dripping and running over stone, wearing away, depositing, changing stone, we wandered through ideas until we arrived at a modern Arnemetia. Here, we found Her posing as a Bag-Lady, pottering around the town, challenging people’ assumptions and quietly keeping an eye on Her springs and wells and making sure people still honour the waters that run through the hills, even if they have forgotten Her name….
