Back from Sundance
Kyle and I have been back from attending a Sundance in Utah now for over a week and we are still in awe of the whole experience. We went with the intention to support our friend while he danced and ended up both of us dancing with Kyle piercing - which has been his dream - we just didn't know it was going to happen this year! Usually, people have 1 year to prepare for Sundance. We had 1 day! Luckily, our intercessor told us we didn't need to make 300 prayer ties of each direction - just 6 prayer flags of each direction. Plus we had to learn how to make the anklets, wrists & crown out of cloth and sage. We felt very welcomed and blessed when people we just met gifted us with items we needed for the dance. Two eagles appeared on Tree Day as we took the tree down and escorted us all the way back to camp. Awesome! At the end of the first day of dancing we were told that the temperature reached 110 degree!! We had a few days like that (amazingly no one was burnt to a crisp) and on the last day we were blessed by sprinkles in the morning and again as we thanked our supporters.
I may think of it as an week of intensive dancing in place (our feet, ankles, legs and back definitely thought this) however, praying to the tree to transform what I thought of as pain into free flowing beautiful energy that was my friend helped me as I only felt a little sore and tired.
The generosity, care, compassion and support of both of our fellow dancers and supporter though out the dance was fantastic. We couldn’t have made it through the four days of dancing without them and our prayers to the tree.
We both feel wonderful that we were part of the magnificent energy that was created in the hoop of the arbor with the tree of life in the middle like a lightning rod to the universe above the secluded area bounded by the ancients singing and dancing on the ridges surrounding us.
I don't know if there is words to describe the beauty of the place and time we were in but it definately was transforming for both of us as we walked away different in a huge wonderful way from when we first arrived.
Many prayers were said for those people unknown and known to us. Prayers to our ancestors, families, friends, descendents, the earth, the universe and all that need healing. Pretty powerful prayers will be felt from this dance for a long time to come.
May we always walk in compassion and love.
Life is amazing
I am constantly reminded how wonderful life can be. From the flowers & trees blooming, the smell of a cedar tree wet with rain drops, fresh turned soil, a childs smile and a hug from your best bud! Spring is here & that means we are in the Eastern door of the medicine wheel where ideas are birthed, life begins, projects are put into motion & we start to look with renewed interest to what we will do....it's as if the very effort of the blades of grass, flowers, bees and birds raise the vibrations of our thoughts & the air we inhale with expanded breath in the refreshing spring time. Just think of all the people who experience these same emotions & how the vibrations on this earth are lifted to new heights when we appreciate, give gratitude, do random acts of kindness and expand in the divine love. Life is good.Raising Community
It feels good to finally start doing our classes & circles. Busy getting the word out, visualising the coming together of many people to raise energy....We are excited...Seeing the work unfold in front of us....taking us to a more expansive state of mind & body.....new faces....friendships.....dimensions....
Uta is doing her Yoga class tomorrow night...I like the challenges of stretching my muscles, breathing in & then trying to stretch just a little farther with my out breath. It's been a few years since I practiced this on a regular basis. I remember being taught how to do the "Darth Vader" breath to help you concentrate on keeping the poses....it also helps to have a focus point....strengthening your inner core....until you don't fall over or get the shakes... so it's a good thing she knows how to do massage too!
