I've been a part of the Do Something Saturday tribe and the foundation it has been associated with. I was asked to be part of the board of directors and was added to the list. Lately there has been some problems there. There's plenty to read about if you want to go there and check out the drama.

I'm not going to air out all the trash on anyone. I will say that I've learned a lot from it and the founder, but there is a problem that should get rectified; till then, I wont be a part of it ti... read more
I wanted to leave a comment on Kengi's blog but it seemed like it was getting a little too wild in there. I didn't want to get into the mix - especially since I have not spoken to Kengi. I've left an email message and his phone seems to be out of order.

Yesterday I spent a good part of the day with my friend Kengi, founder of the 'Do Something Saturday' tribe and outreach, handing out supplies and food to the homeless in Santa Monica and Venice. Thanks to the generous donations by SUAVE, we made kits of Body Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner and Toothbrushes to hand out. On our way to parks, libraries and streets, we picked up 75 Jumbo Jacks, loaded up the car, and got our day going.

I missed the company of my fellow DSSers, but I got to do something that I don't really get to do when there are lots of us around. Nearly everyone I passed Do Something Kits out to, I got to spend time with and get to know. (I posted a few pictures of some of these super folks). All these folks I met are beautiful people. I remember when I was young, hearing from everybody; including teachers, preachers and leaders in the community how homeless f... read more
