15 weeks til we all get laid

   Fri, July 25, 2008 - 11:34 AM
1st off, did you know that registered voters have more sex than the lazy, apathetic non-registered american population? are you equally aware that by voting (& upon receipt of one of those snazzy "i voted" stickers, it's a veritable fact that people are more likely to be attracted to you?

so, get registered if you're not. then get informed. then go out & vote. -there's an important election in the works & come november, hopefully a landslide of people getting laid in the state of california for getting THEIR vote in!

in addition to the obvious importance of the presidential vote, there are these other things on the ballot that will be begging your attention. -sometimes people don't know what these are about & sometimes, b/c there are only 2 choices for these "propositions", people will stupidly check off "no" when what they really would mean to say is "yes"... if only they knew what the blast it was about.

STATE OF CALIFORNIA: PROP 2 on your ballot is the PREVENTION OF FARM ANIMAL CRUELTY ACT. this grassroots initiative is being sponsored by the likes of the Humane Society of the United States... and it is Very simply being put forth to protect farm animals from cruel treatment.

you know how uncomfortable it can be, riding middle seat in coach on an airplane? IMAGINE BEING CONFINED TO THAT SPACE FOR YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. can't stand up, can't turn around, you can't even stretch. -that's the reality 1000s of cows, pigs, and chickens face every single day on farms across america.

ever heard of gestation crates or battery cages? ... look them up... if you're brave, look @ the pictures.

i've never asked anyone to become a vegetarian or vegan in my life... & i try hard to not get grossed out by my boyfriend's salmon steaks & (ergh) ribeyes... but when it comes to living decently as a human BEing, i stand up. -so when my friends tease me for buying "cage free vegetarian-fed" eggs @ the grocery, i tell them in my nice voice: it's really not that funny.

i invite Everyone to get educated. on this & every other issue that's going to be on YOUR ballot 11/4/08. read. listen. discuss. Think. and then Yes, VOTE.

and if you're just looking to get laid & don't have spare for the politics... VOTE OBAMA & 'YES' ON PROP 2. it's the right thing to do.

as my friend kathy would say, "it's about saying 'YES' to the right things."

Yeah, but there are times to say "no" b/c it results in the correct "Yes" that youreally wanted. :)

Thanks maemae.

I took your cage free idea a bit farther and have chickens in the back yard... They are not vegetarian though... They eat lot's of bugs, just as nature intended...

Screw, Vote, then screw again!(Why not, The politicians are gonna screw us anyway) It's good for you and it's good for America!

Saying ""Yes" by Saying "No"
Two great ways for you to say YES by Saying NO coming up on the ballot also for all of you Californicators out there.

Say NO to:
Proposition 4: The Let's have more High School Girls become Unwed Mothers Act

and say NO to
Proposition 8: The We Don't Want People Who Think Differently Than Us to Be Happy Because We Secretly Hate Them Constitutional Amendment

Bless you, MaeMae!!
No matter which of the many walks of life I've perused, I find that very few people have the --what? The wherewithal to truly examine what farm animals go through in this country. To actually see with our eyes, what they must endure with their bodies. And speak about it. And say that it's WRONG and you DON'T want to subsidize that fucking inhumane mercenary torture with one dime of your hard-earned money. People just generally don't like to talk about this one, no matter how justice-minded and peaceful and environmental and (etc) they are in other areas of life. It's like the carve-out., the blind area. I think it hits too close to home.

Thank you for having the courage to speak about this issue.
I for one will be there voting--

but I sure am hoping I don't have to wait 15 weeks to get laid.
ohhhh, God.....!!!!!

I'm pledging to withhold sex from nonvoters. See www.votergasm.org.

Except....
.....maybe after this comment I've posted (above), I will have to wait far more than 15 weeks to get laid. At least as far as Tribesters are concerned.

hee hee!

I will now forever think of sex when I am voting.
Fri, July 25, 2008 - 7:05 PM
That sex and voting thing really screws up my lesson on voting
that I do with my Kindergarten students. Damn you Maemae....

but now that I think about, it just might spice up the bedroom.

Hmmmm...

On the fence.
Not certain where I come down on Prop Deux yet, but I am always open to *gentle persuasion*.

yes, it does take courage... to visit w/ a suffering animal - whether it be @ a farm or behind bars in a zoo or cooped up @ the pound... it takes compassion w/ guts to sit face-to-face w/ any creature & look them in the eyes. careful... to extend your gaze... you may find a soul in there... and it will change the way you relate to everything forever.

YES ON 2. compassionate people make the best lovers. best lovers get the most sex. best most sex.
