Reccomendations?
Sun, January 21, 2007 - 11:46 AMI've got a list going already but I'd rather not sight-see the whole time...not that there's anything wrong with spending my 2 weeks or something in SF on a strict diet of family-fun...
She's giving me a lot of say in the trip so I need parks, museums, shows, STORES, etc.
(And the picture is completely unrelated. I just like them. And I'd buy them in a heartbeat if I had my ears gauged...and they weren't $250.)

There's a lot to do in this area... It's a matter of if you're going to stay in San Francisco or if you're willing to travel to the outlying areas. I'l reply with a better list once my brain's up and running. But there certainly isn't a shortage of things to do in this area.:)

Don't be a tourist
Here are the cool, underground and funky things to do in SF. For family time go to the Exploratorium at the Palace of fine art's www.exploratorium.edu/ Then go take the fairy to Alcatraz Island, very spooky. But when you get there, take off and go around the Island where you are not allow to go. Go to Haight St. Mission St. and Valencia St to go shopping. Not Toustity at all, well maybe Upper Haight ST. Lower Haight is cool.
A very cool place to stay is the Hayes valley inn. Clean, cheep and close to the Opra and Theaters as well as Hayes St. Also a very cool street. Now for the Adult side. The Dark side, the soft white underbelly of the city. Of course there is Death guild on Monday nights. The DNA lounge is fun only on Saturday nights when they are not doing house music. and then there is the Porn Palace and Mission control. But let me know the dates you will be here and I will do my best to give you know more details about things that go bump in the night. Until then Sleep well. Rod PS If you come around the time of a Street faire, like the "How Weird or "Castro" Then you'll be in Good hands |

STORES
in the Haight: lotsa great stuff, a few of my favorites:
1. Anubis Warpus. incredible fetish zines, and a tattoo shop to boot! 2. WasteLand -- best of the best of thrift shop filtered finds. costs a pretty penny, but the fashions are absolutely worth it and trez unique.. try on stuff just to find your style 3. Aardvarks -- kind of like WasteLand on the cheap, some nice stuff here too, favorite is the "embroidered names" shirts which are sorted by name order. |
