Om A Ra Pa Ca Na Dhih With a diacritic font installed the mantra is transliterated thus: Oṃ A Ra Pa Ca Na Dhīḥ Manjushri is a Bodhisattva who represents wisdom, and his mantra also symbolizes that quality. He holds a sword in his right hand — symbolizing his ability to cut through delusion. In his left hand, by his heart, he holds a book — the Perfection of Wisdom teaching, or Prajnaparamita. Manjushri Om is a mystical syllable (see Om Shanti Shanti Shanti for more details). The syllables between Om and the concluding Dhiih are the first syllables of a syllabary called the arapacana because it begins with A RA PA CA and NA. (A syllabary is like an alphabet, but made up of syllables). This syllabary is found in a number of Buddhist texts, including some Perfection of Wisdom (prajñaparamita) texts. Many of the texts in which A RA PA CA NA (and the rest of the sylllabary) appears are not connected with Manjushri, but according to Dr. Conze (in the introduction to The Large Sutra on Perfect Wisdom) “in later literature is is always connected with the Bodhisattva Manjushri.” The individual syllables A RA PA CA and NA have no conceptual meaning, although they are seen as having symbolic connections with various spiritual qualities. Here’s the schema laid out in the Large Sutra of Perfect Wisdom (adapted from Conze): A - leads to the insight that the essence of all things is unproduced. RA - leads to the insight that all things are pure and free of defilements. PA - leads to the insight that all dharmas have been “expounded in the ultimate sense.” CA - leads to the insight that the arising and ceasing of things cannot be apprehended because in reality there is no arising or ceasing. NA - leads to the insight that although the names for things change the nature of things behind their names cannot be gained or lost. These are all important concepts in the Perfection of Wisdom, although to say they are concepts is a bit limiting — really they’re attempts to describe the indescribable nature of reality. Dhiih is defined as meaning: thought , (especially) religious thought , reflection , meditation , devotion , prayer; understanding , intelligence , wisdom Pronunciation notes: * a is pronounced as u in cut * c is like ch in church * ii is like ee in bee * The final h in dhiih has the effect of producing an echo sound. So the syllable is pronounced dhii-hii. Manjushri mantra The Bodhisattva Mañjuśrī (Variant spellings: Manjushri / Manjusri) Manjushri is a Bodhisattva who represents wisdom. Along with Avalokiteshvara and Vajrapani, he is one of a trinity of family protectors. The family that Manjushri protects is known as the Tathagata family, which includes the historical Buddha, Shakyamuni, as well as Vairochana, the central figure in the Five Buddha Mandala. "Tathagata," the name of Manjushri’s family, means "The one thus gone [to Nirvana]" or (because of the ambiguities in Sanskrit) "The one thus come [to this world]" and is an epithet of the historical Buddha. Of all the Bodhisattvas, Manjushri has perhaps the closest association with the Buddha, and could be said to represent his genius (in the sense of his attendant deity) or daimon (attending spirit or inspiring force). Manjushri Manjushri is depicted as a beautiful young prince, usually said to be sixteen years old. His freshness and beauty represent the fresh way that the awakened mind sees the world. While the unelightened mind typically sees life as being ordinary, to those who are awakened life is magic, extraordinary, and full of potential. The name Manjushri means "Gently Auspicious One." He is also known as Manjughosha, or "Gentle Voiced One." Like most Bodhisattva figures, he is seated on a lotus flower. Because the lotus grows from mud in often foul water, and yet remains unstained, it is considered to represent the purity of wisdom, which can exist in the midst of delusion without being affected by it. Manjushri’s most distinctive emblem is the flaming sword that he holds aloft in his right hand. The sword symbolizes his mind’s ability to cut through the fetters that bind beings to the cycle of delusion and suffering. The flames suggest that the sword is not a literal one, and flames in Buddhist iconography invariably represent transformation; Manjughosa’s wisdom does not destroy ignorance in the conventional sense, but transforms it into Wisdom. In Manjushri’s left hand is his other characteristic emblem: a book held to his heart. This book is the Perfection of Wisdom, which is both the source of his realization and a concrete symbol of it. In the Manjughosa form the book sits atop a lotus that the Bodhisattva holds in his left hand. Manjushri features prominently in many Perfection of Wisdom texts. He makes a late appearance in the Lotus Sutra, and is particularly prominent in the Vimalakirti Nirdesa. Both of these are early Mahayana sutras. However he is most often found in the later Perfection of Wisdom Sutras, where he is, in effect, the Buddha’s spokesman. In some of these sutras, the dialogues that Manjushri has with the Buddha are so intimate that we can get a sense that we are hearing the Buddha thinking out loud. Manjushri is associated with ordinary intelligence and mental accuity as well as transcendent Wisdom, and his mantra Om A Ra Pa Ca Na Dhih is said to confer intelligence. Shantideva, the author of the great Bodhicaryavatara ("Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life") is said to have gained his wisdom by communing with Manjushri by night, while appearing by day as a slovenly and lazy scholar-monk. Some scholars believe that Manjushri has his origins in a Ghandharva (celestial musician) called Pancashikha, who is found in some early Pali texts. the name Pancashikha means five-crests, and has a correspondence with Manjushri’s epithet, Pancaciraka, "Possessing Five [Hair]-Braids." Being a musician, Pancashikha is also "gentle voiced" and is praised by the Buddha for the quality of his singing. Both figures are also involved in question-and-answer sessions with the Buddha, and both are generally depicted as eternally young, although this is so common a quality that it’s not in itself persuasive. Manjushri is often known as Kumarabhuta ("Youthful Being"), although he does also manifest in some texts as an elderly man. His quality of having eternal youth (sometimes despite appearances to the contrary) symbolizes the eternal freshness and spontaneity with which the enlightened mind approaches life.

"The Haab' is part of the Maya calendric system used by peoples of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization. It was the Maya version of the 365-day calendar known to many of the pre-Columbian cultures of Mesoamerica, which approximated the solar year. The Haab' comprises eighteen "months" of twenty days each, plus an additional period of five days ("nameless days") at the end of the year known as Wayeb' (or Uayeb in 16th C. orthography). Bricker (1982) estimates that the Haab' was first used around 550 BCE with the starting point of the December winter solstice. The Haab' was the foundation of the agrarian calendar and the month names are based on the seasons and agricultural events. For example the thirteenth month, Mak, may refer to the end of the rainy season and the fourteenth month, K'ank'in, may refer to ripe crops in the fall.[citation needed] The Haab' month names are most commonly referred to by their names in colonial-era Yucatec (Yukatek). Day numbers began with a glyph translated as the "seating of" a named month, which is usually regarded as day 0 of that month, although a minority treat it as day 20 of the month preceding the named month. In the latter case, the seating of Pop is day 5 of Wayeb'. For the majority, the first day of the year was 0 Pop (the seating of Pop). This was followed by 1 Pop, 2 Pop ... 19 Pop, 0 Wo, 1 Wo and so on. As a calendar for keeping track of the seasons, the Haab' was crude and inaccurate, since it treated the year as having 365 days, and ignored the extra quarter day (approximately) in the actual tropical year. This meant that the seasons moved with respect to the calendar year by a quarter day each year, so that the calendar months named after particular seasons no longer corresponded to these seasons after a few centuries. The Haab' is equivalent to the wandering 365-day year of the ancient Egyptians. Some argue that the Maya knew about and compensated for the quarter day error, even though their calendar did not include anything comparable to a leap year, a method first implemented by the Romans. Wayeb' The five nameless days at the end of the calendar called Wayeb' were thought to be a dangerous time. Foster (2002) writes "During Wayeb, portals between the mortal realm and the Underworld dissolved. No boundaries prevented the ill-intending deities from causing disasters." To ward off these evil spirits, the Maya had customs and rituals they practiced during Wayeb'. For example, people avoided leaving their houses or washing or combing their hair." I recently had an 'interesting' time on the 2012 forum... Some one had posted an article supporting José Arguelles's Dreamspell 13 Moon Calendar... At first I only posted a link to Aluna Joy's Website... The Thread Grew over a few days and I checked back... By this time I really Felt it was Important to state a few key FACTS about the calendar to let other form a more informed OPINION... Mainly do to the fact the Mayan New Years was at that time only a few days Away... Here is what I Posted... A couple Key Points to remember here... His 13 moon calendar is BASED on Mayan Calendars... but IS NOT a Mayan Calendar... Don't Believe me ask a Mayan... Hunbatz Men (Mayan Day Keeper, Quiche Mayan Elder) he will set you straight.... Aluna Joy and John Major Jenkins also go into this at depth. There is no (Day out of Time) that is something Jose Arguelles invented to fit his calendar... Also the Mayan New Year is March 21 not July 26... once again you want a FREE MAYAN Calendar.... A real Calendar of Ancient Mayan or Quiche (exact same, names have changed over time though) visit www.kachina.net/~alunajoy/index.html ... There, she has many articles to read some of which are written by Mayan Elders Alive today... Oh and there are in fact 22 Calendars used by the Maya. I do enjoy the energy that José Arguelles puts into his 13 moon calendar and I agree we need to be on A 13 Moon calendar... But he has been telling the world something that is not true for over 8 years... Intentionally or not... Though he has back tracked in the last couple years to save his butt from ridicule... he now admits it is only BASED on Mayan calendars... But in the beginning he was saying IT IS the Mayan Calendar not only used today but right before Spanish invasion as well... Neither are true... However, He has yet to FIX his calendar to be accurate... Those that use his calendar do live in a 'Dream Spell'... one created by José Aruelles... This is not Mayan Time... But José Time... It is important to note: March 21, The Mayan New Year, A very important Date... And Would NOT BE celebrated if you were on José time... Hmm, No offense but it makes me wonder why anyone would post 'Dream Spell' stuff a few days before the Real Mayan New Year... ALSO... José time DOES NOT match the True Count kept by Mayan Elders today... As well as the other Key points I posted originally... He lived with Quiche Mayan Day-Keepers for a period of time and based his data on what the living descendants still practice today with his, and others, archaeological findings... Not to mention Aluna Joy who regularly talks with Quiche Mayan Elders as well as Galactic Mayan, she even does trips where you could meet a Mayan Day Keeper and ask him/her yourself... I've met with the Quiche Mayan Day Keepers from Gautamala....they could not even tell me what day it was on the Haab....they acted as if they didn't even know what the Haab was! Finally they said that they just follow the Tzolkin. How can you know what Tun you're in if you don't know the Katun or Baktun? It's like keeping track of what day it is but not knowing what week, month or year it is... If you're a Time Keeper you should, um, know what time it is. The classic Mayans totally believed in reincarnation.....so who's to say that Pacal Voton did not reincarnate as Jose to bring sacred time to the masses? And I'm sure if I asked Jose what day it was on the Haab he'd be able to tell me. It is also interesting to note that the classic Maya would periodically "mess up" what day it was on the calendar to show the Gods that they were not perfect so the Gods would not get jealous.....and that the main idea was to be following the sacred cycles, not to be all bent on exactly what day it was........" I found it wrong for me... I found Aluna Joy's books... and they worked prefect for me... her message of hope and renewal is beautifully positive(and she has free calendars and birthday converters)... now... if you remember, José was doom saying before 95 saying if the world did not get onto HIS calender and buy HIS books we were all doomed... When 95 rolled around and we still kept trucking... He did change it... And he did in fact change his story from 87 when he was saying HIS calendar was the one used in the classic period by the Maya... My points in no way bash José or his calendar... He started very early in the game... In 75 he beginning to write about this subject... So he got a strong and early foot hold... But none of the leading scholars today of the Maya, nor the living Maya, agree with what he is saying... Though others writings are not 'sanctioned' at least the living Maya agree with what they say... Humanity is not Doomed... Period... Never Was... That is the Illusion friends... DO NOT BUY IT... March 21st is Mayan New Year! We enter into new energies of 6 EB & 10 KAT Are you ready??? This is the year where SOUTH reins as the SUPREME RULER! What does that means to you and ME?? It means we can manifest our visions of a new future right now! In the Yucatec Mayan Calendar (which our book "Maya Astrology" is based on), we enter into a 6 EB year. It is a year in which we return to reclaim our detiny's purpose and to finish what was not completed in previous lives. It is a year in which our creation can flow easily. Eb resides in the HEART CHAKRA and has powerful emotion, but we find ourselves getting hurt easily if we take things personally. Eb also will influence us with powerful psychic abilities and a great drive to get the job done. We will find unity and oneness while feeling more relaxed, courteous, and a desire to be useful. This cycle has 2 runs of powerful core days. Powerful days in this cycle will be 06/18/08 - 07/07/08 . . . the first 20 core days. I was asked how there could be a 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 9th dimension... or whatever... if there are an infinite number... Good question... Dimensions are separated by vibration, much like radio frequencies, these different vibrations can exist in the same space without touching or interfering with one and another. A higher Vibration can perceive a lower one, but a lower Vibration cannot perceive a higher one. Classical Physics teaches the story of The Dot, The Line, and The Cube. Each one only able to perceive the one that came before it... so the Dot is unaware of the Line, The Line is unaware of the Cube, but the Cube is aware of them all. This represents the first 3 dimensions, a 4th would be time, and many argue we have been 4th Dimensional beings since the moment we began to measure time... But that is Classical Physics... Quantum Physics teaches us of the zero point field or quantum vacuum... that all matter is energy condensed to a slower vibration, that atoms are not solid and not only is reality an illusion of photon energy but it is subject to the will of consciousness. Back to topic... Now, there are in fact an Infinite number of dimensions. Just like a single NOTE of sound has 12 octaves and each octave has 12 semitones and an infinite number of harmonics in between... The Universe has 12 main octaves of vibration creating the 12 Dimensions of Physical Matter, each of these 12 Dimensions have 12 levels in between, Just like the Mayan Tzol'Kin the 13th level is the next step up... or next Dimension... String Theory is based on this, but it is wrong in that there are no strings just waves and particles... And right in that the Physical Universe is a manifestation of these vibrations...A Unified Field Theory is much more accurate... I numbered them using the Science that was Developed here... Unified Field Theory currently states there to be 12 such octaves or dimensions in this physical universe... In other words there are an infinite number of 3rd Density Dimensions and 4th Density and so on... past 12th Dimensional however there is no more slow vibration of energy into any sort of matter... Just pure energy, Transcendental space. The Zero Point, The Quantum Vacuum... That is not to say you longer exist, but you are literally everything... This is nirvana... the escape from the cycles of life and death... Another misconception is that we live in the 3rd Dimension... This is only partly true, you actually live in multiple dimensions at once. Normally in a cord of harmonics... For example Most earth humans currently Live in their 3rd and 4th Density bodies, while they are either making or already have a 5th Density body. Think of a Super-Computer using wireless connections to control several other computers at once... All one needs to do is shift their consciousness from one level to another. Meditation and an understanding of the Chakra System will help you move your consciousness up... Using Universal Love and Compassion Through True Understanding you can raise your vibration to the highest levels of the multiverse... When some earth humans die, they go to the 7th Dimension... others may go to the 9th Dimension from were they are projecting themselves originally. From my understanding there is now consciousness even in the 2nd Dimension thanks to computers, AI, and the universes they can create. More on this later... Mayan “Statements” and Beliefs About 2012: The Evidence John Major Jenkins back to Alignment2012.com A good and not too common critique against my work is the following: If the end of the 13th Baktun was so important for the Maya, then why is there so very little in the way of recorded statements concerning what they thought about it? Similarly, of all the Long Count dates preserved in the archaeological record, why are there only one or two that could be construed as referring directly to the 2012 end date? There is really no way to give a completely satisfying response to this critique, because I can’t offer what the question implies must be found: direct, literal statements, carved in hieroglyphs that have been thoroughly deciphered. My response will typically frustrate critics who are unwilling to hear some contextual caveats. When I identify the evidence that does relate to what the ancient Maya “said” or “believed” about 2012, critics will probably dismiss it as secondary evidence that can’t be allowed. But there would be a double-standard in such a dismissal, as the following explanation should make clear. The Literal Evidence We have carved monuments dated in the Long Count, stretching from the 7th Baktun to the 10th Baktun (1st century BC to the ninth century AD). Some scholars have criticized the continuity of this sequence, suggesting that Long Count dating in different regions was in disagreement. Although this is a possibility, it would be highly unlikely, since the Mesoamerican calendar was intimately involved with religious beliefs about the inviolable sequence of sacred days and deities. In the manuscript tradition of the Yucatan, Long Count dating via the Katun prophecies seems to have continued up to the time of the Conquest. The vast majority of Long Count dates record local events and chronology. Very few of them have anything to say about “Creation events,” but there are a few. Of these, we learn that a 13-baktun cycle was considered to be one epoch or World Age. The date is recorded as 13.0.0.0.0, and it’s corresponding tzolkin date is 4 Ahau. Scholars now know, via the established 584283 correlation, that this 13-baktun period began on 0.0.0.0.1, August 12, 3114 BC and will end on 13.0.0.0.0, December 21, 2012 AD. We should note right away that the 2012 cycle ending date is a solstice date. This indicates that the early Maya creators of the Long Count system — those who inaugurated it and fixed its placement in real time — must have intended the end date to target the December solstice. This is an important indicator, because then we can strongly suspect that the cycle ending was not just a mathematical consequence of the beginning date; no, some kind of intentionality is very likely. The alternative explanation is “coincidence.” Mayan scholars have been almost universally unwilling to consider this strange circumstance as a vector for deeper inquiry. Instead, they have often, incredibly, dismissed it as a coincidence. [I omit a lengthy analysis of the correlation question. The red herrings offered by David Kelley, Floyd Lounsbury, and others have been seriously looked but they are anchored to unsupportable data and/or assumptions — analysis on my website] In the Books of Chilam from the Yucatan, there are references to prophecies concerning the end of the 13th cycle. Their relation to 2012 is implied but indirect. It should be noted that these prophecies would be a late terminal pre-Conquest tradition concerning 2012, written at least 15 centuries after the 2012 calendar (the Long Count) was invented. Nevertheless, such perspectives should be appreciated for the simple fact that they preserve Mayan beliefs about cycle endings. For this reason, we can also access the cycle-ending prophecies in the Quiché Maya Popol Vuh, recorded in Guatemala in the 1550s. According to Popol Vuh translator Dennis Tedlock, the Popol Vuh document was probably read directly from a hieroglyphic book possessed by the Quiché elders. It contains migration legends as well as cosmological beliefs about the World Ages. The transformations of previous World Ages are briefly sketched, and great attention is given to the demise of a World Age ruler named Seven Macaw, and the culture heroes who would succeed him by reinstating their father, One Hunahpu. As Dennis Tedlock showed, the mytho-cosmic topography of these events corresponds to astronomical features and processes scheduled by the sacred 260-day calendar. The Creation Myth of the Hero Twins also involved the sacred ballgame, journeys to the underworld, and events to occur at the end of the World Age. Whether this is a previous World Age or the current World Age is unclear and, ultimately, irrelevant. In folkloric narratives of the Maya, time is mythic time; the message is perennial and the events “happen in” or “apply to” the past, present, and future. In other words, the teachings and beliefs recorded in the Popol Vuh reveal what the Maya believed about the transition between World Ages. They reveal insights and beliefs about cycle endings. As such, they apply to the end of the 13-Baktun cycle. [I omit a lengthy discussion of the “controversy” over whether the Maya considered a 13-Baktun period important; this debate derives from Linda Schele’s tongue-in-cheek dismissal of pop-culture Mayan prophecy books by an emphasis on a 20-baktun date recorded at Palenque. Her assertion was seized upon by the media as long ago as 1997 (Newsweek, February 17th issue), but the logic is paper thin, and I treated it thoroughly in an appendix to my 1998 book Maya Cosmogenesis 2012 (also online at http://alignment2012.com/app5.htm). Those interesting in doing this entire topic justice must be willing to avail themselves of clear, thorough, and careful analysis of motives and content. Paradoxically, that kind of cogent analysis is not offered by academes themselves, who often do not evince an understanding of what they are quoted as authorities on; for example, Schele professed to unquestioningly follow her mentor Floyd Lounsbury on calendar correlation issues, and also professed to be an inept numbers person.] Secondary Evidence So, we begin to glimpse how an entire set of already existing beliefs and perspectives about “2012” can be considered allowable. Critics would say that such secondary evidence is not allowable, because they would wish there to be direct statements recorded in hieroglyphs that have been thoroughly deciphered. This is a bias of the modern mind, and it reveals a double standard. For example, Maya epigraphers made progress in deciphering the hieroglyphs because they took clues from modern Mayan linguistics, from modern phonology, from modern and ancient iconography, and from ethnographic data on Mayan concepts. These sources are all SECONDARY to using the internal evidence within the hieroglyphic texts themselves. But they were helpful in making breakthroughs. Similarly, archaeoastronomers look at a site like Uaxactun and find central, prominent, key alignments to the sunrise positions on the equinoxes and solstices. They thereby conclude that the temple builders at Uaxactun were aware of these solar quarter-positions and considered them important. Notice that the archaeologists did not find hieroglyphic texts stating “We the builders of Uaxactun consider the equinoxes and solstices to be important.” No, but the evidence is there, secondarily. So, if we can allow such a methodology in these other realms of Mayan studies, then how can we not allow it when it comes to understanding what the Maya thought about 2012? 2012 is a cycle ending. It is a World Age transition. Thus, the World Age Creation Mythology recorded in the Popol Vuh must be allowed. That’s where documentary “statements” can be found. And within the mythology, astronomy is encoded. Izapa and the Popol Vuh To take this one step further, we can look to the statements preserved on carved monuments at the site of Izapa. This archaeological site dates to 400 BC – 100 AD. Mayan scholars (such as Michael Coe) consider “the Izapan civilization” to have been involved in the invention of the Long Count calendar. Izapa's carved monuments are pictographic, and portray the earliest coherent episodes from the Popol Vuh Creation Myth found in the archaeological record. Those monuments, and the three primary monument groups, are oriented to the solar horizons in specific, meaningful ways. For example, the December solstice sunrise position is pointed to by the lengthwise axis of the Izapan ballcourt. The ballcourt’s monuments depict events in the stories of Seven Macaw, the Hero Twins, and the resurrection of their father, One Hunahpu. These are stone “documents” and “statements” that are as valuable for understanding the Mayan World Age doctrine, and therefore 2012, as any Rosetta stone clearly spelling things out. Perhaps more so, because the site and monuments of Izapa are integrated in a unified paradigm that touches upon mythology, prophecy, religion, and astronomy. In fact, because of this, the Izapan monumental corpus IS a Rosetta stone, since it integrates different representational "languages" into a unified whole; it shows how we can cross-reference symbols and motifs from different representational categories used by the Maya (mythology, prophecy, religion, and astronomy). We should not try to fit the data into a preconceived methodology, but should instead learn how to see the data for its full import and worth, to see the message that was intentionally put there by its creators. (Please see my brief summaries of Izapan monuments and cosmology, here and here.) In conclusion, once we see that the Popol Vuh Creation Myth (the book and its stone prototype at Izapa) is the playbook for 2012, then we can see that there is not a dearth of “statements” about 2012. If we disregard the “secondary” or “indirect” sources as viable evidence for reconstructing beliefs about 2012, then how can we accept the methodology of epigraphers, who have been helped in their decipherments by secondary data from modern phonology, linguistics, and ethnography? A final note. The Classic Period 13.0.0.0.0 dates from Coba and Quirigua were carved seven or eight centuries after the first Long Count dates appear (cycle 7 dates, 1st century BC). The preoccupations of the Maya Classic Period were, in general, far removed from the activities of the Izapans. Although it seems that several Izapan innovations were centralized within institutions adopted into Mayan civilization (e.g., the Creation Myth and the Long Count), we should suspect that the core insights encoded into those traditions could easily have been layered over with reinterpretations, redactions, modifications, and localized socio-political agendas. This is exactly what happened to Christianity, when early gnostic and hermetic aspects were occluded and even rejected at the Council of Nicea. So, although the core galactic references remain embedded in the Mayan ballgame and the Creation Myth, the import of those references for the Classic Maya may have been severely muted. The galactic alignment references may have been as relevant to the Classic Maya as the visionary ascent of the Poimandres was to a ninth-century Pope. In this sense, the recovery of early Christian hermetic texts in the 1940s (the “Nag Hammadi” library) was as revolutionary and upsetting for establishment Christianity as the reintegration of the core teachings at Izapa might be to our picture of Classic (and modern) Maya cosmovision. It is not the end of the Mayan Calendar, but the BakTun Long Count and does in fact repeat, in fact it takes a full 13 BakTuns to equal one world age and 5 world ages to equal 1 full precession. The Long Count is really a mixed base-20/base-18 representation of a number, representing the number of days since the start of the Mayan era. It is thus akin to the Julian Day Number. The basic unit is the kin (day), which is the last component of the Long Count. Going from right to left the remaining components are: uinal (1 uinal = 20 kin = 20 days) tun (1 tun = 18 uinal = 360 days = approx. 1 year) katun (1 katun = 20 tun = 7,200 days = approx. 20 years) baktun (1 baktun = 20 katun = 144,000 days = approx. 394 years) The kin, tun, and katun are numbered from 0 to 19. The uinal are numbered from 0 to 17. The baktun are numbered from 1 to 13. Although they are not part of the Long Count, the Mayas had names for larger time spans. The following names are sometimes quoted, although they are not ancient Maya terms: 1 pictun = 20 baktun = 2,880,000 days = approx. 7885 years 1 calabtun = 20 pictun = 57,600,000 days = approx. 158,000 years 1 kinchiltun = 20 calabtun = 1,152,000,000 days = approx. 3 million years 1 alautun = 20 kinchiltun = 23,040,000,000 days = approx. 63 million years The alautun is probably the longest named period in any calendar. The Sacred Calendar Tzolk'in does repeat as well and is based on an ascension of a spiral, ever evolving outward achieving higher and higher vibrations. 12.21.2012 is the end of the Baktun Long Count. A period of 13 Baktuns 5,125.36 years is indicated on creation monuments as one 'World Age', 5 such 'World Ages' or about 25,627 is equal to one precession. It is not the end of the Mayan Calendar, but a specific marker. On that day the Winter Solstice Sun will pass through the Galactic Center, marking the end of the age of Pieces and the beginning of age of Aquarius. This is the Precession of the Equinox and is part of a 26,000 year cycle. The Marker is also the end of the Kali Yuga or Dark Age as spoken of in the Veda (Thats right, We are in a Dark Age now...not a Golden Age) and is the beginning of the Satya Yuga or the Golden Age. The last Golden Age ended 13,000 years ago with the destruction of Atlantis and Lemuria. Interestingly enough, the Tzolk'in is the Sacred calendar of the Maya and is based on the cycles of the Pleiades. The cycle of the Pleiades uses 26,000 years, but is reflected in the calendar we are using by encompassing 260 days. It uses the sacred numbers 13 and 20. The 13 represents the numbers and 20 represents the sun/glyphs. Back to the Date itself... Believe it or not we are now 4th dimensional (not 3rd)...since 1978 artificially and 1998 naturally, 12.21.2012 is also a major marker on our way to 5th dimensional existence. Being as such, predictions past that day are very difficult (as many psychics have claimed, I have no problems), not because the world ends...but because it goes into a 5th dimensional state. At the time of the occultation of the galactic center by the winter solstice sun 2 Stargates will open DevaYana and PitriYana (sanskrit)... I hope to be at the Kukulcan Pyramid, Looking straight up Zenith at 12NOON...there is a Sky-Light in the temple for just that reason... and if you go to the chamber below you will find the infamous "Mayan Astronaut" glyphs. By the time we reach 12.21.2012 we will have undergone a huge consciousness shift... Many may say nothing happened on Y2K...but a lot did happen...and it was another marker... Humanity made choices, and that is what it is about, each person making their own conclusions, their own truths, putting their pieces of the puzzle together. For many, sadly enough, will not experience anything and will not grow or learn anything... For these people, even when Mass Landings of Beings from other stars and planets arrive they will not be able to believe... SO... Don't worry about the day itself...but how you will lead your life down the paths that manifest on your way to that date. Mass landings could and would happen tomorrow if the Collective Consciousness of the Planet was ready... Lets work on getting there faster =P

There has been an awakening happening for some time now, yet there is still much mis-information and lack of true understanding. I hope to be able to provide some tools and perhaps some answers. First and foremost: DON'T PANIC... We are currently in the Dark Ages.... The Kali Yuga... Dec 21, 2012 marks the end of the Baktun Long Count... This will be the Begining of the Satya Yuga or the Golden Age... Also it marks the end of a 27,000 year cycle known as 'the precession of the equinox'. It is the end of the Age of Pieces and the Begining of the Age of Aquarius... If that wasn't enough it also marks the day when the winter solstice sun passes through the Galactic Center and travels the spirit road through the heavenly gate unlocking the stargate at two doorways... Reality IS what you make... Now is a time to get together and share information and love... We are making a future right here and now... Many psychics have claimed to not be able to see past that date... I have no problems....but to quell their alarm... We are currently 4th Density (Dimensional) not 3rd as many think... The reason for the psychic block is simple... you can not see into the next higher vibration. This raise in vibration has to do with a 2000 light year wide photonic belt of 7th Density light. Scientists have found this 'Golden Glowing Nebula' and have confirmed the orbit of our sun around the Galactic Center will move our entire solar system through this 2000 light-year wide anomaly. The Planet itself as a spiritual entity will be moving into 5th Density as well as 22 other star systems with their own planets that are in our galaxy. Part of the agenda of the ones that control us is to make us manifest our own demise. If you devote your time to thinking negative things, then you are manifesting exactly what you don't what to happen into existence.
