My Testimonials

November 23, 2007
Janel is one of the most amazing people I have ever met.

She is exceptionally smart, caring, considerate, helpful, cute, funny, fun, and among other things, known to be an animal-ette.

No matter weather shit is hitting the fan or you are hitting the beach, she's someone you want to have around.

Be sure to check out her upcoming DJ sets, many painstaking hours in font of the cdj's and mixer are crafting her into quite the DJ.

Janel and I are dancin sisters…many an adventure we have shared and many more to come...

I think we have learnt many things from our friendship with each other and am glad we are making the journey forward

Like a piksee in a giant forest she explores the world with an open mind and the diversity of experiences make her the eclectic soul she is

this may not be of interest to others but, since i work in mental health with some very serious issues at times, i found this article very interesting.

so much so i thought i would post it here in case anyone else wanted to understand more about the effects of childhood abuse on brain development then also the development on psychological disorders.

i knew that neglect and other forms of abuse resulted in physiological changes to the brain in early development but did not know that exac... read more

our friend needs to find a new home for his dog.
please get in touch if you, or someone you know, wants a new dog.

about me
cute, fun, motivated, compassionate, continually seeking balance. a long time ago i think i must have decided to deal with whatever i had to early on in life so that i would avoid a mid-life crisis. ill never be able to look back and think that i didnt do enough, never had enough fun, or didnt have the courage to face my past.

my new favorite quote is:
"Live your life by what you trust, not by what you fear."

i have lived overseas twice. australia for a year and then england where i did my master's degree in counselling psych.

i like to laugh a lot which helps with the work i do. i also paint sometimes and read often. im not really as serious as my work might make me out to be - dont confuse this with not taking my work seriously...having fun while we are here helps balance out the serious stuff.

i work as a professional therapist in private practice (healingsolutions.ca) and for an agency doing individual and group counselling for trauma survivors. the agency is a non-profit society dedicated to helping male survivors of sexual abuse. i volunteer as a support group facilitator for a bisexual group. i have also done some teaching at a private counselling college. the job that i used to have, which was my favorite, was working as an addictions counsellor at a methadone clinic on the lower east side. but, i moved to the uk for university so couldnt stay there.

currently i am finishing an article for publication in a journal in the UK and i just finished an article for the website:
