Ten Random Things About Me (ahem!) 1. My husband calls me "Krakatoa" for my volcanic Scottish temper. 2. I love Tori Amos AND Iron Maiden (its a yin/yan thing). 3. I could be a member of Chocoholics Anonymous, is there one? 4. I once got hit in the head with a ski lift chair. 5. I cried for three hours after watching the Color Purple. 6. This summer marked our second trip to Faerie Worlds Festival, an event that we look forward to all year. Once again, we were welcomed by the friendly spirits there, and happily became part of their world. I can't describe the feeling of freedom that I've experienced in this place (and being the kind of person who has her feet firmly on the ground, freedom of spirit is quite an accomplishment for me). The smoke in the air was thick with the smell of pine and grass. Our bodies were slick and our minds numb from the day's heat. The hum of the tires on the road, a steadfast reminder--we're almost home. I had almost forgotten the mountains. Their ominous outline still cast a shadow below the choking night sky.
