My Blog

I have had alot of time to think lately about dance and why I have chosen to make this my life's work. There are so many reasons but I felt the need to share a particular one. And I suppose it is extra important considering I have never blogged about anything personal before so here it goes....
Truth, so often it is dependant on who you happen to be talking to at the time but I find that the movement never lies, similar to actions it is those rare beautiful movements that keep us honest. Everyday I find that I can't lie when I dance, about the way I feel about myself, my day, my life it just isn't possible. Sometimes that can be rather overwhelming considering sometimes how I feel moves me to tears or fires me up but through dance, movement and action I find that I can maintain a certain truth within myself. Words and conversation are left to be interpreted, often leading to "you missunderstood" or " I can't explain" or " That's not what I meant" or my favorite " I can't find the words" but movement and actions explain it all. No lies, no miscommunication just simple truth, body language. Hmm now there's a thought, body language (hey I think I can smell an advanced fusion excercise there hehe) I think that is why we have the phrase, " Actions speak louder than words" so true. So for me "Dance shouts louder than words."
So if you ever wonder how I feel watch me dance it explains everything.
