Maybe it's those sharp hip locks, or the serious stage performance face that bursts into a smile when the exhilleration of her own performance consumes her? I love being able to watch Hilde perform & be all in my head "that's my teacher, that's my teacher". I've caught myself too many times thinking how lucky it is to have her as a teacher in the sleepy Brighton scene, & know that some day, the industry will take notice of her & we'll have to let her spread her wings. Until then it's great to be taught tribal isolations, combos n posture by untapped undiscovered top talent. Hanging out, outside of class is absolutely hilarious. Thank you for everything you've given to me through learning to dance: step by step, fundamentally broken down. Lookin forward to the chance to dance & be creative together. A pleasure & honour to be taught by ya chick!

I've been taking lessons with Hilde for about 3 or 4 terms now. And she's a wicked teacher. She has her own unique style, which is strong and graceful, yet also really sharp. The girl has loads of new ideas and infectious energy. She's introduced me to tribal fusion, through which I"ve discovered tribe and the BDSS ... my love of bellydance has errupted into major loony obsession and it's all her fault! ;-)

I saw Hilde dance last weekend and was blown away.
She is such a pure and sensual dancer - no sleaziness, none of the tittilating stuff you normally see in restaurants. I was sooo impressed. She is one classy lady. Beautiful isolations, gorgeous shivers/shimmies and great tribal style too!! Bring out a video Hilde!

Loved dancing in the sun, with the wind blowing in my hair (luckily I was wearing trousers underneath my skirts though :) Phil Thornton's music is just great to dance to in these conditions with the sea as a backdrop. Loved dancing to Derwood Green, live version!! And great to dance to some of his newest tunes as well.

Last night I danced in the Komedia with a band called Fanfara. Now THAT is what it is all about, having 10 musicians support your dancing, rather than dancing to a track from a cd. I was so excited that I gave it my all during the first minute and thought I was going to faint halfway through the first track! These guys are absolutely amazing!!
