</a>
<div>I live by certain social morals, they are important to me, but not particularly a moral responsibility others follow. I was asking Mayra, why is it important to be humble, considerate and loving? Now I am asking you, why do you choose to be a well meaning person?</div>

    </a>
<div> While packing and moving to Philadelphia, I got a strong hit that all really is well. To be frank, I was or still am a bit apprehensive about my move to PA, I am an outdoor person and I am moving to the city. Aiaiai…
I got a strong feeling that the person I am in love with is not the one who deserves me in his life, a beautiful feeling that Melinda, the one room mate I have spent more time with, is pure greatness. That Mayra is a life-long friend. I am in the flow of life. I am where I ought to be. I am deeply grateful for all I have gone through, for all the heartbreaks, because now I know more clearly what I want, and it shaped my personality for the better.

GAS

<div>THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $1.30 PER GALLON.

This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this please.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy gas on a certain day' campaign that was going around last April or May!
It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!

I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to 'hurt' ourselves by refusing to buy gas.

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.
BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can Really work. Please read on and join with us!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $3.28 for regular unleaded in my town.

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace. . .not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.

The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.

But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL.

If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) .. and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3 , 000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers .
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all!

(If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am.....so trust me on this one.

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!!

I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you !
Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

Keep it going...thanks!

<div>Hey peeps, I am moving to Philadelphia May 15th. I was wondering if someone could show me around sometime. I need to find out how to get to the DMV, IKEA, bike shop, local food store, and who the internet provider is for Philly. I will be moving to South 21st street with Melinda and Kayla, some of you may know them. I am very happy about my move, a big change from my original plans to move to Switzerland, but I am just going with the flow of life. Also, while I am at it, does anyone know of an organization that is hiring? I will be graduating next week from Rutgers with a Women’s and Gender's Studies degree and Psychology minor. If you have any inside leads let me know. Much love, Aline </div>

<div>I have to write a thinking essay about the book the technology of the orgasm. Has anyone read this book? It’s about how women with hysteria used to go to the doctors and they would give the women clitoral massage and relieve them from their symptoms. However, the massage was difficult to learn and it took a long time for the women to reach the climax. The vibrator was invented as a labor saving device for doctors to treat hysteric women. Now I have to write an essay about this, it’s so obvious to me that I am not sure what to say. What do you think about it? </div>

<div>I have always been a strong minded person, with strong morals. I have always believed in social equality and I have always taken a stance when I encountered a person who hasn’t always been fair. Therefore I have heard countless times that I am a bitch. I have been always off beat, but I was seriously conditioned to believe that I was a nasty person because I spoke out. Now, I am not sure if I am nice because I want to make up for being called a bitch for so long and internalized it, or if it is in my nature to do the wonderful things I do. I am tired of being taken advantage of. I am tired of being nice, but I don’t know how not to care. Since I spend much of my time alone, the computer has become my social apparatus. How do I overcome being nice and present to people, and then realize all this time, I have been take advantage off? How does one overcome injustices being done to oneself?

BTW: I am not talking about any of you reading this. You are honorable and I adore you. Much Love, Aline</div>

    </a>
<div>The Brazilian government has begun producing condoms using rubber from trees in the Amazon.
The health ministry says the move will help preserve the largest rainforest in the world.
It will also cut dependence on imported contraceptives, which are given away to fight Aids.
The Brazilian government has one of the biggest programmes in the world to distribute free condoms in the fight against the disease.
The new state-run factory is in the north-western state of Acre, and will initially produce 100 million condoms a year, which will be known by the name Natex.
Officials believe that not only will it generate income for Amazon residents, but it will involve using a product which is widely available and can be obtained without destroying large areas of the rainforest.
The latex will come from the Chico Mendes reserve, an area named after the famous conservationist and rubber tapper who was shot dead in 1988 by local ranchers.
The factory will benefit at least 500 families and provide 150 jobs in the town of Xapuri which has a population of around 15,000 people.
The health ministry says the condoms will be the only ones in the world made of latex harvested from a tropical forest, and will reduce the reliance on foreign imports.
The Brazilian government says it is the world's largest single buyer of condoms, purchasing more than a billion of the contraceptives in recent years to give away free as part of the country's national programme to combat Aids.
The policy, which is at its most visible during the Carnival period, has often been criticised by Catholics bishops who say it only encourages promiscuity.

<div>I consider the transference of “being in love” which lies at its root as a projection phenomenon, that is … an attempt of the individual to personify his own will [grandiose self] in the other and so to justify it …”Being in love” is the continuation of the unreal will justification in God, through the earthly deification of a real person…. In this voluntary dependence and subjection of the individual who makes a God for himself as he yields himself to the deified loved one, we see before us the …. approbation and justification of the own will through another. </a>
<div>Initially, I thought I wasn’t going to “walk” the graduation ceremony. I thought, my parents aren’t here, I have no family in the country, no body is going to be there to take pictures, why bother….
As I was walking my baby Brownie, I thought I ought to walk. I have to celebrate the countless nights I didn’t sleep so get an A on an exam, the 10 page history papers I had to write, the countless diapers I changed to be were I am today…
I have to walk for all the women in my family who didn’t have to opportunity to go to college…
For the lifetimes I was a woman and by virtue of my gender not able to get an education…
So here I am asking the close people of my life to take the day off from work and celebrate with me.
Celebrate the advancement of women in history, not just me.
My happiness does not depend on your presence, but I am in eager anticipation to see some of you there.
I won’t be able to fund a lunch afterwards, but depending on how many come, I can cook at my house before hand.
I am sorry this sounds so sentimental, the odds weren't always in my favor....
Here are the details:

    </a>
<div>Ok, I don’t really believe that, but something is happening. I told my room mate that we need to talk because I feel burdened by all I have to do in the house. So for weeks I have been planning on having a talk with her, but every time I came home she was sleeping. One week end I actually got to tell her that when she leaves her spinach used pot (which is actually my pot) that it smells so bad that I have to wash it in the middle of the night because I can’t sleep. I can actually smell it from my room. This was a big deal for me, to say that, but it came across too nice and not much else changed. So I call her at work and told her we need to talk, so she said well tell me now what’s up. So I told her that I feel burdened because I am the only one that mops the floor takes out the recycling and does the heavy cleaning. I also asked her to not run the dish washer with five dishes inside (her dishes only) because it cost too much electricity and when I want to put my dishes inside, it’s clean and I have to put her dishes away in order to put mine in. When she was in school I didn’t mind picking up the cleaning load, but now that she is not in school anymore and I am, I would like for her to do more. all of the sudden she had to go and hang up. I came home and she was frantically cleaning the kitchen. I explained to her that I want us to live comfortably and it was the heavy cleaning like moping, vacuuming and changing the light bubs and so on that I wished she did more of. That night, I see something from the corner of my eyes, and it’s a mouse in my room. My dog Brownie is not even scared, and not even worried to protect me. Now it’s Saturday and my friend Steve and I were watching “You Can Heal Your Life” by Louise Hay and my room mate starts cleaning the house, taking magazines of mine that is in the HALL WAY (outside the apartment) and putting it on my lap. Then she proceeds to vacuum the house while we are watching the movie. (Sigh) So I ask her: “can’t you do that some other time?” “This is the only time I have” she replied. I told her, “You misunderstood what I was saying. I mean you know collaboration, I wish you would take out the recycling sometimes, and not leave the garbage bag on the kitchen floor or scrub the bathtub and clean the bathroom sometimes… A big fight broke out. She said I don’t recycle, why would I take the recycling out!” I said: “it’s the law to recycle; I am tired of digging into the garbage taking out your shit and recycling it.” She said, “sue me then”. I said: “it’s a moral responsibility we have.” She said “you work less then me”. I said, “It doesn’t mean I have to clean up after you”. And so on and so forth…. However, I have the mouse in the room, not her! You now, I have to say, since I shed the nice girl ideology, the let’s not rock the boat mentality, I have been happier. Things don’t go as smooth on the outside anymore, but I feel better.
BTW she is still home, never went anywhere and yet she had no other time to vacuum…. Huuuuuhhhhmmmm I wonder…..
I won’t play that pickering game, I will stand my grounds.

										<div>Did You Know?
>
>> In the 1400's a law was set forth in England that a man was allowed to
>>beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb. Hence we h ave "the
>>rule of thumb"
>>
>> -------------------------------------------
>>
>> Many years ago in Scotland , a new game was invented. It was ruled
>>"Gentlemen Only...Ladies Forbidden"...and thus the word GOLF entered into
>>the English language.
>>
>> ---------------- ---------------------------
>>
>> The first couple to be shown in bed together on prime time TV were Fred
>>and Wilma Flintstone.
>>
>> -------------------------------------------
>>
>> Every day more money is printed for Monopoly than the U.S. Treasury.
>>
>> -------------------------------------------
>>
>> Men can read smaller print than women can; women can hear better.
>>
>> ---------------------------- ---------------
>>
>> Coca-Cola was originally green.
>>
>> -------------------------------------------
>>
>> It is impossible to lick your elbow.
>>
>> -------------------------------------------
>>
>> The State with the highest percentage of people who walk to work:
>> Alaska
>>
>> -------------------------------------------
>>
>> The percentage of Africa that is wilderness: 28% (now get this...)
> -------------------------------------------
>> The percentage of North America that is wilderness: 38%
>
>>-----------------------------------------------------------------------
>
>> The cost of raising a medium-size dog to the age of eleven: $ 16,400
>>-------------- ---------------------------------------------------------
>
>> The average number of people airborne over the U.S. in any given hour:
>>61,000
>>-----------------------------------------------------------------------
>
>> Intelligent people have more zinc and copper in their hair.
>>............................................................... The
>>first novel ever written on a typewriter: Tom Sawyer.
>>...........................................................
>
>> The San Francisco Cable cars are the only mobile National Monuments.
>>........................................ Each king in a deck of playing
>>cards represents a great king from history:
>>
>> Spades - King David
>>
>> H earts - Charlemagne
>>
> > Clubs -Alexander, the Great
>>
>> Diamonds - Julius Caesar
>
> 111,111,111 x 111,111,111 = 12,345,678,987,654,321
>
> If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs
>>in the air, the person died in battle. If the horse has one front leg in
>>the air the person died as a result of wounds received in battle. If the
>>horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural
> causes.
>>........................................................
> Only two people signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4th,
>>John Hancock and Charles Thomson. Most of the rest signed on August 2, but
>>the last signature wasn't added until 5 years later.

> Q. Half of all Americans live within 50 miles of wha t?
>>
>> A. Their birthplace ................................................
> Q. Most boat owners name their boats. What is the most popular boat
>>name requested?
>>
>> A. Obsession .............................................
> Q. If you were to spell out numbers, how far would you have to go
>>until you would find the letter "A"?
>>
>> A. One thousand
>>............................................................
> Q. What do bulletproof vests, fire escapes, windshield wipers, and
>>laser printers all have in common?
>>
>> A. All were invented by women.
>>...........................................................
> Q. What is the only food that doesn't spoil?
>>
>> A. Honey .................... ...................................
> Q. Which day are there more collect calls than any other day of the
>>year?
>>
>> A. Father's Day
> ...........................................
> In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes.
>>When you pulled on the ropes the mattress tightened, making the bed firmer
>>to sleep on. Hence the phrase......... "goodnight, sleep tight."
>>
> It was the accepted practice in Babylon 4,000 years ago that for a
>>month after the wedding, the bride's father would supply his son-in-law
>>with all the mead he could drink Mead is a honey beer and because their
>>calendar was lunar based, this period was called the honey month, which we
>>know today as the honeymoon.
>>............................................................ In
> ;>English
>>pubs, ale is ordered by pints and quarts... So in old England , when
>>customers got unruly, the bartender would yell at them "Mind your pints
>>and
>>quarts, and settle down."
>>
>> It's where we get the phrase "mind your P's and Q's
>
>> Many years ago in England , pub frequenters had a whistle baked into
>> the
>>rim, or handle, of their ceramic cups. When they needed a refill, they
>>used
>>the whistle to get some service. "Wet your whistle" is the phrase inspired
>>by this practice.
>>
>> ~~~~~~~~~~~AND FINALLY~~~~~~~~~~~~
>>
> At least 75% of people who read this will try to lick their elbow!
>>

>>
>> 4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.
>>
>> 5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that
>>they don't have e-mail addresses.
>>
>> 6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if
>>anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.
>>
>> 7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the

>>
>> 8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't even
>> have
>>the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic
>>and
>>you turn around to go and get it.
>>
>> 10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your
>> coffee.
>>
>> 11. You start tilting your head sidewa ys to smile. : )
>>
>> 12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.
>>
>> 13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this
>>message.
>>
>> 14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.
>>
>> 15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on
>>this list.
>>
>> AND NOW U R LAUGHING at yourself.
>>
>> Go on, forward this to your friends. You know you want to!

    </a>
<div>I got a strong reminder why I don’t ever watch television. I was briefly flipping through the channels and I saw a man in Washington DC wearing a peace shirt being arrested for protesting the war. I saw a man with a shaved head cursing about a racially charged case. His son went on a drunken rage to a black man’s house, threaten to rape Mr. White wife and beat up his son. He got shot and now his dad is complaining about the consequences of raising a racist. That half minute in front of public television brought tears to my eyes.</div>

Commitment Virus?

    </a>
<div>Tribe men please reply to my post.
Why are men so afraid of a relationship?
Last night I spoke to my ex-boyfriend for a long time on the phone.
After much laughter and joy I asked him: What happened to us?
He informed me for the first time, that we were about to become serious and he wasn’t ready for the commitment.
Social studies indicate that men benefit more from a relationship then women do.
Men, however, don’t seek it as much as women.
My conclusion: Men want Freedom. Women want security.
True or False?
I think a commitment virus went around and affected men.
Maybe I am the carrier, because every guy I am interested lately has been affected by it.
I seem to scare men, or cause psychosis or something.
One more question…..
Why do all men want a threesome?
If I got a dollar, no maybe ten dollars, every time I was asked by a mate if I would a threesome….
I would be able to travel to Morocco for a month.
Why is that every man’s fantasy?
A dear male friend of mine says that it’s about the communication between two women and a man that makes it special. Lol
I have never done it, thus, I have no idea.
I am very interested in hearing what you all have to say.
Much Love, Aline

What does this metaphor imply?

    </a>
<div>A big discussion in class arouse regarding this metaphor.
“The uterus is to the human race what the heart is to the individual.”
Please note that these are not my original words, they are featured in the Pooveys article “Scenes of an Indelicate Character”.
Let’s see if you tribe peoples come to the same conclusion.

<div>You know how there are bird shows on the Discovery Channel and the announcer, usually a male with a deep voice will interpret their behavior to the viewer? Sometimes I imagine aliens looking at us through a glass, interpreting our behavior with an egocentric point of view. Pointing out how stupid the wars we create are, how we more than anything else desire world peace, but yet we hate people we work with. How we dress up and dance like birds… How we sing like birds to attract mates. Like guys on bands… Fuck the good girl image. It's all a product of capitalist, patriarchal, triangular, sexist, societal contract anyway… I am breaching it! I am going all out at Heart Burn! </div>

    </a>
<div>Now that I got you with this title, we can get to the discussion.
So in my black feminist theory class, my teacher was talking about the female role in ancient Africa. How women were the first to keep time because of their menstruation and the cycle of the moon. How the ancient mother was a very round woman with big breasts and how that symbolized fullness and fertility. Then she said something very beautiful; it was believed that when women reached an orgasm they could see he female divine. How is it for you blog readers? Do you see the divine (if you believe in this sort of thing) when you reach an orgasm? What goes through your mind when you reach that peak? </div>
