Funny teens.

Today, I was hanging out at work with my competent employee, a school teacher (Robert) who takes lessons with us, and one of our music teachers, Jesse. The employee, Sabrina, is a senior in high school, and has an essay due tomorrow for school. The conversation went as follows:

Sabrina : Robert, you were an English major; will you write my essay for me?

Robert: No.

Sabrina: Maybe I can find an essay online.

Robert: What's your essay about?

Sabrina: Plagiarism.

(Pause while Robert, Jesse, and I all crack up. I notice Sabrina's not laughing.)

Me: Wait, you weren't trying to be funny, were you?

Sabrina: No, why was that funny?

(Robert, Jesse, and I are all laughing too hard to tell her)

Sabrina : Wait, I get it . . . I think . . . No, wait, I don't.

Yay for teenage comedy! The funniest part was that we did a search for essays on plagiarism online, and found a whole bunch for purchase. I wonder how many of those people actually get the joke.

I imagine all of the people selling the plagiarism essays get the joke, though probably few to none of the purchasers. This is your COMPETENT employee? Yeesh, I'd hate to see the incompetent one(s).

That is so funny.
