Dale is one of the most fucked-up people I know. He's sharp, street smart, can follow a difficult conversation, and has a lot of esoteric knowledge. He knows a lot of strippers. I would have fought him a Fight Club. He's the only person I'm likely to trust to throw hooks into me, and that'll happen when the Universe is as fucked-up as he is. In other words, soon.

A few days ago I ran into Dale after not seeing him for many months and as always even though we only had a moment to say hey, I left with a smile and got one of his hugs. The man knows how to hug, among other things. Dale is one of the most talented people I know on all kinds of levels, deep is good but simple word to use to describe Dale, I saw prolific genius used and that is a good one as well. I am just glad to call him friend, I look forward to more hugs.......

I thought I was close to being able to start "filling in the spaces " between musical numbers.....when someone in Oakland reminded me about the little art film that got Bill his Star Trek shot.........a little film called "Incubus" filmed entirely in Big Sur....in Esperanto!!!!!! firstly, I'd like to thank everyone who made covers and blankets what it is every year YOU ALL ROCK!...HARD!!! second; I'd like to explain a little some thing 'bout Dale th'Nail..I actually love to play covers!!...it is it's own thing,separate from jamming or playing standards, recording tracks, doing an original singer songwriter roudtable etc. here it is for me.It gives me the opportunity to get out of my own way, put my enormous (almost Carl sized) ego aside and be of service to the tune.....

so, I hear from a lot of people how much they would love to have a great funk band in town to dance to, you know real funk..old school, new school ,post-hop whatever but FUNKY, well I had this band called "MUTHA"...and I was the only white boy in the band until I added David Rollin on percussion..and the cats could really play!
