so, I hear from a lot of people how much they would love to have a great funk band in town to dance to, you know real funk..old school, new school ,post-hop whatever but FUNKY, well I had this band called "MUTHA"...and I was the only white boy in the band until I added David Rollin on percussion..and the cats could really play! Our collective resume included the Isley bros. Cameo, B.B. King, Linda Hornbuckle...in other words we were HEAVY!!!....and, guess what...no one would come to see the band, they would rather go to a gig and see their DJ hipster friends stink up the stage with anorexic mediocrity....well I'm gonna try this one more time PLEASE SUPPORT MUTHA this time!, or stop whining about how Portland bands can't play funk
