Let what I feel fill me
but not consume me.
Let me follow what I feel
but not be forced.
Let me become the kind of soul
who never clings too hard;
who lets go, and yet loves.
Let me imagine better worlds,
yet work in this one.
Let me touch, and treasure even,
people I can never hold.
Let me learn from all my losses.
Let me out, and let me in,
let me see, and let me be,
a window...maybe broken;
but through which
a bit of air and sunlight comes.

Now if only someone would get that poor girl a haircut!!! Photoshop fix, anyone?
Mother Wise and Mother Strong
wake to meet your mighty throng.
From the vortex now give birth
a magick circle round our girth.
As Above, So Below,
this circle is now sealed.
Mother Wise and Mother Strong
wake to meet your mighty throng.
From the Element of Air,
bring our Mother, wise and fair.
From the Element of Fire,
bring the Mother we desire.
From the Element of Earth,
form Her essence, give her birth.
From the Element of Water,
Bring to us our Sacred Daughter.

Hey There! I am so glad you were able to find me here on Tribe! I have to send out a bit of an apology to you though. You see, this isn't the blog that I had intended on sharing with you. The story of my mishap with my other two blogs is down the page a bit further in thev "Story Of My Week". The blogs that I had hoped to share were on Blog Spot. One is/was Crafty Chick Creations, a blog full of craftilicious wonder; and the other, Crafty Chick's Cuppa Coffee, a Blog for all my fellow Goddess Worshping Friends. Well, I'm sorry to say that they are going to have to be scrapped and rewritten. Hopefully I can have them going again by the next round of Blog Swap. Untill then, I hope you enjoy the tid bits that I leave here, and the photos in my album.
1) This is a compilation of some of the other art photos.
2) 1996~LORD & LADY~ This is a pen & ink drawing of the Forest God & Moon Goddess. I did it in pointillism, which is a series of small dots; placed close together or far apart to mimic shading. (Yeah, it took a long time!) The picture itself is my version of another artists work. I changed it up a bit, to suit my own taste and style. The drawing itself is about 12" x 17" , and is matted and framed much larger.
3) 2003~TRIPLE GODDESS~This is the artwork I did for the cover of my latest Book of Shadows, (which is now filled to the brim and I am about to begin yet another!) It is a mosaic of stamped & embossed Serendipity Squares. When I made them I was just messing around with a new technique. After I had created the finished piece, and placed it on my book; I realised that there are three images of the lady. One is an obscured partial image on the right side, the Maiden, or New Moon; one is a nearly full face pieced together image in the center, the Mother, or Full Moon; and the third, on the left, is another obscured image on black paper, the Crone, or the Dark Waning Moon. It is funny how sometimes art creates itself so perfectly for unknown purposes.
4)1996~OWL MOON TREE~This is a pen & ink drawing that I had done, from a series in a sketchbook. After the drawings were finished, I took them to Kinkos, and had them copied onto nice cardstock. These became the very first set of greeting cards that I ever sold professionally. It is interesting to look back on them now, because making cards has become one of my favorite art forms. This is the original, and it rests safely in it's honored position on the inside of the cover of my Book of Shadows. It is a theme that I have doodled often. I love to draw moons and trees. And owls are one of my very favorite totems.
5)2006~MY STUFF TIN~This piece is an altered tin that I made to store my special stuff. I created it in my favorite colors, Black & White, to go with the color scheme in my art room, otherwise known as Mommy's Special Spot. The tin is the proud holder of my decks of Tarot Cards, Goddess Oracle, Pendulum, Runes, Crystals and a few other goodies that I like to keep with them.
6)2008~LITTLE WITCH DOLL~This is one of a series of little witches that I made last Halloween, for sale and for gifting. I decided that I liked this one so much, that I kept her for myself. She is crafted from miniature terra cotta pots, a wooden ball head, dictionary paper hat and dress lining, black marabou feather trim, chenille stem and wooden spool arms & hands, a couple of pieces of vintage costume jewelry and a lot of love. I haven't yet named her.
7)1996~DESERT SHEILD~This is another one of the pen & ink drawings that was made into a set of greeting cards. I drew it shortly after returning from a trip to Arizona & New Mexico, both places which I fell in love with their incredible natural beauty.This piece is also made of tiny dots.
8)2007~FREEFORM FLOWERS~This is a piece of art I drew in ink, onto a canvas. I made it for my some decor for my home. I needed some more art for my living room. The inspiration was dogwood flowers, and seed pods; but since they came from my imagination, they don't quite resemble any flowers that I have seen. So they truly are my own creation.
9)2008~QUEEN OF THE CRAFT~This is definitely one of my favorite pieces of art that I created last year! I made it for my Art Room wall. It is an painted/altered wooden frame. I used a giant queen playing card, painted chipboard leters, tiny white silk blossoms w/black brad centers, some various fabric strips & ephemera. The little quote strips at the bottom say, "You know you are a true artist when you go thru gluesticks faster than tubes of lipstick!" (I just love that! :)
10)2007~FAMILY PHOTO MINI ALBUM~This is a mini flip album I made, again for the house. It is a wooden, stand up, flip book, that I altered. I used cherry paper, paint, letter stickers and red rick rack. The cutest little part, is the hand embroidered, button cherry embellishment that I created to go on it. All of my favorite family photos go in it, to sit in our living room. It is a handy way to keep the photos accesible to everyone. (And it's adoable too!)
about me
I am...a Crafty Mama of Two, an Artist, Massage Therapist, a Nite Owl, a Rocker at Heart, a Classy Chick, Loyal Friend, Scrapper, Passionate, Rescousrceful, a Sacastic Optimist, Creator Extrordinair, Free Spirit, Amatuer Photographer, Proffessional Kick-backer, Fashionista Wanna Be, Explorer of Alternate Realms, Kitchen Witch, Herbal Connessuer, a Writer of Stories, a Super Lagger, otherwise known as Chronically Late, Coffeeholic, Official Family Historian, Sun Lover and Moon Worshiper, Teller of Fairy Tales, Insomniac, Transientus/Domesticus, a Dreamer of Better Realities, a Real Down Home Kind of Girl.
Well, my plate certainly is full! It's funny how as soon as you think you have things almost under control, then something else is sure to crop up to give you another thing to take care of. The nature of things I guess! I spent the end of last week, and beginning of this week recuperating from a vile flu bug. luckily it wasn't anything that a lot of rest and a crockpot of Jewish Penicillin couldn't cure. Thank Goddess for Chicken Soup! Now that I am back on my feet, everything is back in full swing, (not that it really even slowed down).
My children started new after school classes and activities last month. My 9y/o daughter if taking Hip Hop Dance classes; and my 5y/o son takes Karate. In addition to that, my son just began a new season of T-Ball, and played his first game on Sunday. Go Pirates!!! I thought I was going to die, sitting in the hot sun, getting fever chills. But as a 'Good Mommy', I had to be there no matter how sick I was. Just part of the job description; well, that and no sick days!
On the Danae spectrum of things, I have been trying to get my two new blogs up and chugging on Blog Spot. One is an Arts & Crafts Blog, with project tutorials, articles on artists that I love, tips & tricks, and oodles of crafty goodness. The other one is a Pagan/ Wiccan Spirituality Blog, with spells & blessings, information, recipes for oils & incense and projects for handcrafted ritual items. I was doing great with them too, WHEN I LOST THE EVER IMPORTANT WEB ADDRESSES FOR THEM!!! I can still get to them, and people can randomly stumble upon them, but I cannot give anyone the info to get there otherwise. Yeah, I totally suck! I think I am going to have to scrap all of my previous work, and have to start over from scratch. All this the week that I am supposed to be taking part in a blog exchange on Swap Bot, (the Arts & Crafts Swapping Site). So needless to say, I am a bit bummed. At least I have this blog page that I can send them to.
Other than that, I am in the process of getting my camera working again so I can photograph my artwork. I took pictures two days ago, but they weren't what I wanted, so I am going to give it another shot tomorrow if it doesn't rain. In addition to that, I am working on getting my garden cleaned out and ready to plant for Spring. The camera will come in handy there too!
So folks, I think the moral of my little dilemma is...always put your web addresses in more than one safe spot! And of course don't eat the yellow snow! Oh, sorry, that was last week's lesson.

This is an entry, from on old journal that I came across the other day while cleaning out my closet. I thougt it was kind of true, funny, and appropriate! So, I decided to share it here. I had written it following an entry relating the Elements to the different parts and purposes inherent in spell work. ( I will enter that one above this, so it reads better.) I had just finished my entry, when a friend knocked on my door, and shared some delectable Hawaiian Herb with me. That particular friend is partial to joints, while I myself am a bong lady. After discussing the virtues of each of these, it dawned on me that, not only do I think that ganja smokes and tastes better through a bong...it is actually a form of elemental alchemy. Okay, well, I saw it that way. You may or may not, depending on your perspective. So here is the BOING! that I got that day from my bong!!! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
***THE ALCHEMY OF THE BONG*** Written by: Danae Spring of 1994
Ganja = Earth
Bong = Water
Flame = Fire
Smoke = Air
High = Spirit
We take the fruit of the Earth,
place it in the sacred vessel of Water,
transmute it with Fire,
to which it becomes the smoke of Air;
and the alchemical reaction of all of these,
produces a desirable effect on our Spirit.
Yeah, I know...I'm a little weird! I know what you are thinking;
and I was like this waaay before I started smoking weed.
This is just me in my natural state!!!

Okay, I officially am a brainchild!!! Moronothon-and on and on!!! After two days of kicking myself for losing the URL addresses to my new Blogs on Blog Spot...I finally figured it out. I was thinking, "How the hell does everyone else keep the addresses to all of their blogs straight. And, how do the veiwers get to them, if those names and numbers are so damn complicated?"
Then, while trying to fgure out how to put the links to my favorite sites and blogs up onto my Tribe page...it totally hit me, RIGHT UPSIDE THE HEAD!!! Duh! Look up! They are right there on the top of each web page we look at. They are those endless codes that I never even pay attention to! (For the record, I am a novice at using computers, and have only been back on the internet, ater a 5 year break, since December. So this is all new to me. And I am actually figuring it out pretty well, so far..)
So,I will be adding my links to my two new Blogs in the next couple of days. I have some work to do on them, and then they will be up and running, and ready to share with the world. YAY! See? It's not so hard! :)
