Abstract Art Glass Pendant, Silk Cord and Stainless Steel Necklace Set
This very unique necklace was created to highlight the Abstract Pendant, created by Paula Hall . My inspiration to make the entire necklace an abstract piece of wearable art was based on the pendant and that ordinary beads just wouldn't extend the abstract theme. (Besides, I couldn't find the right color of "gold" to match!). There is obviously an iridescent quality to the pendant which caused me to look for alternative elements to emphasize it.
Silk cord came to mind and for some reason I see lime in the pendant (probably the blending of gold and blue) which I decided to pair up with black silk cord. That was too boring by itself, so decided that my variety of stainless steel beads (which have big enough holes to put the cord through) would be unique and abstract enough to make this necklace a definite "eye-popper"! The stainless steel beads are kept in place by sterling silver crimp covers and the clasp is a simple hook clasp. The matching earrings consist of sterling silver beads with two different size Swarovski cube beads with a black agate melon bead between. They drop from citrine beaded sterling silver ear wires.
The necklace measures 23" including clasp. The pendant adds another 1 3/4". The earrings drop 1" from the ear wires.
The eclectic look of this necklace is the result of wanting to design something abstract to appeal to those of you who want a very unique necklace/earring set to add to their jewelry collection.
