This is terrible, but a recent study of several public beaches in California and Washington showed that both the sand and water on the beaches contained concentrations of MRSA bacteria.

Those are the strains of bacteria that can cause terrible infections and that are resistant to the usual anti-biotics.

Walking barefoot in the sand or lying on the sand may put you at risk for contracting these horrible infections that can disfigure you or even kill. .
