OIL IN AMERICA ---- WYOMING ACTUALLY!!!!

   Sun, August 27, 2006 - 10:18 AM
On a recent trip to Wyoming to visit my Father, we flew into Denver and drove 6 hours to Riverton, Wyoming, due to direct flight issues and me being in a wheelchair. We drove, and drove through open masses of nothing but rolling hills. Hours would go by without seeing "a Town with people." What we did see however, we many small abandoned "GHOST TOWNS." I am told these towns were booming in the 50's when American OIL was thriving. Our people had jobs, our people were using and selling our own oil. Imagine that! I was also informed that the oil is still there! But because it is too expensive, the land historically Native American and a host of other reasons that didn't make sense to me. WE THE PEOPLE, let this valuable resourse remain in the ground while we fund other countries resources. While in Wyoming we visited an actual Dinosaur museum. They have 60 dig sites that are currently in active status...... SO TELL ME IF I'M WRONG..... But doesn't oil come from fossils????????
Yes I understand the need to preserve, keep Native American Heritage and Wild horses need to roam free... We saw a herd and they were flawless. But, how as a society can we not use what we have to ENABLE our own people?? Create jobs and build communities instead of fighting wars over oil in foreign lands. The vacant towns remain, with only dust collecting........ Just something else that makes me crazy!!!!!! Oh yea, also in the 50's on an oil dig site, they were drilling about 100 miles into the earth and guess what they found......A GLACIER! Yep, ice. It remains untouched. Too expensive to excavate...
But we can spend billions across the big pond to sell our military's lives......
