Solar in Surprise Valley

   Sat, January 5, 2008 - 7:26 PM
I spent the last month in Southern Oregon installing Solar Thermal Panels my second and third systems en solo. For you laypeople out there, Solar Thermal is the heating of water in panels on rooftops. It's what I do. The hot water is fed to the existing water heater so it doesn't have to work as hard, or at all. It saves beaucoup energy. I did have some good help, a beautiful view from those RV Park Laundry house rooftops, and I got a $25 per day per diem. I designed and managed the installation of these puppies, it was tedious, treacherous, and satisfying. New Years day the system in Surprise Valley was producing 115 degree water, meaning even in the dead of winter, their water heater barely had to work at all........
