Miriam Peretz has been studying, teaching and performing dances from the Middle-East, the Silk Road (Persia & Central Asia,) and the Roma “Gypsy” trail for the past fifteen years. In the U.S. she has been a soloist with numerous companies including: “Ballet Afsaneh” Persian and Central Asian Dance Company, and “Aywah” Ethnic Dance Company. In Israel, she has performed with “Arabesque” Middle-Eastern Dance Company, “Pasos” Flamenco Dance Company, and “Inbal” Ethnic Dance Theater Company. Summer of 2005 Miriam was selected as a featured soloist for the annual San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. She has recently returned from Israel where she was on tour with the acclaimed Persian Ney player Amir Shahsar following the release of his CD “Botechin.” Miriam holds a B.A. in dance from Saint Mary’s College of California, and is a certified Pilates instructor.
