Riding home from the shuttle in w. oakland... too fast for my own good. Hit bump followed by a slippery patch of paint, went down hard. On my head, apparently. Got up, grabbed the bike, got back on.
Felt like I was on a lot of acid, trying to get back to my tent on the playa. Things look like they should be familiar but aren't. Thankfully I'm so used to being on acid and on my bike that I don't freak out and I make it back to home. Couldn't tell you how, because I was seriously thinking about calling Simon and telling him I was totally lost. The bike though, she knows, and she gets me back. Just like being on the playa. I knew that would come in handy someday.

Up the stairs, scare the hell out of Stina, who rushes me to the ER. Note: if you have a head injury, they will rush you through. You will get dirty looks from everyone. But the doc has me follow his finger, stare at a light, walk a straight line and stand on one leg. He also asks about my bike. Shes fine, thanks.

So thats why I wasn't around for full melt or anything else, and you'll have to forgive me for not coming out tonight either. Theres a sizable lump on my left temple in addition to the usual neck/shoulder pain that results from going down. No pretty bruises just yet, but trust I'll let ya'll see em when they come.
